Brandi - We're having burgers tonight too. I made some awesome oopsies with flax meal last night. I saved two to use as a bun for the burger. They turned out a little on the flat side, but I think I didn't whip the egg whites enough. I'm going to try another batch tonight and see how they turn out. Tommie - You're on maintenance level right? Are you following any plan? Counting calories or carbs? What are you eating that's upsetting you? |

Anyway... okay BACK TO THE DIET LADIES!
![]() As I was saying.... Tommie, I've been struggling the past few days myself with my eating too and I DO have a plan that I'm following. I think part of it is the exercise - I think another part is hormonal, but my calories have been WAY too high a few days. Okay when you're doing low carb, not so good when you're eating carbs. I've got to reel it in before my scale jumps 5 or 10 pounds!!!! |

Tommie... you need to get that Small Batch Baking cookbook that I just bought. I have a feeling that you are alot like me... I gotta have sweets. My problem is/was that I would bake something and DH would have like one taste of it and then it would sit around and of course who would end up finishing it?? Me!!! I just hate throwing away perfectly good food. I am loving this cookbook because you can bake your favorites - and yeah, they actually have a mini coconut pie recipe too - but it's only like a couple of servings. Most recipes she says are 2 to 3 servings, but I've been able to turn them into as many as 6 or 8 to cut back on the calories. You should check it out. That way when you wanted to have a high carb sweet, you can and not worry about eating the whole dang cake or pie! It's so hard reducing recipes accurately, but she has done the work. I made the biscuits the other morning for breakfast - it made exactly two, with another one out of the scraps. I ate one, DH ate one and the other one went into the freezer. |

Tommie I posted something to you, guess it was on the last thread that got deleted. Anyways are you doing calories or low carb? Last time you checked your waist was the right size. So maybe an exercise plan?

Yeah, that's exactly why I decided to buy that one. So far it's worked well with my new WOE. I love being able to had the 'forbidden' things but not having to worry about overindulging. It has built in portion control!!!

Oh and Tommie, she uses cans from canned goods to make the little mini layer cakes - I actually turned those into 4 cakes instead of making them layered tho ... of course I had to go and buy all these new fangled mini pans to use.
Like the mini tart to make a single serving pie... haven't done that yet though. I am trying to do only one treat like this a week! I want to find those mini cake pans that Cleo is using to make her oopsies in, but we don't have a Target here. I guess you can probably get them online too. Sure wish my stimulus check would get here lol....Speaking of oopsies ... Kim, what does the flax do with the RRs that you are making? I was using the protein powder but never tried the flax. Since those rolls are made with egg white and cottage cheese, well the originals anyway, I may incorporate them into my WOE on occasion. Anybody know off hand what the calories on the RRs are? |

Tommie-the key is to eat the sweets only in your fantasies...
Really, though don't you think sometimes we do the "well I ate one & blew it, might as well eat a million?" ![]() Ya know, most of us would never dream of going to a restaurant and ordering 2 desserts after a meal...and often we barely finish the one we do order...so I'm thinking the only reason we'd eat a whole pie at home (or finish it ) is because it's there...men conquer Mt Everest because "it's there", while women are home cleaning up the leftovers...and not wasting them...because "it's there." (So I guess we really do "waist" them ...or give ourselves more dimpled darlings as Tommie would say. )Mary's idea with the small serving cookbook, especially for the exceptionally scrumptious & tempting foods, is a great idea... And off topic, Mistress Mary, Quite Contrary, how does your garden grow? (not really contrary, that's the gardener rhyme! And this is really a question about my garden.) Please, I hope you can answer this gardening question...we have a lilac bush that get's very few blossoms...all the others around here are just bursting with blooms & we've got maybe 4 little clusters. We've been in this house for 3 years & the bush was already here then so it's not like a new planting. It IS leggy looking, though...lots of bare "trunk"...like 2-3 feet & then a crown of leafed branches. The leaves look good. so wondering...do I feed it? Do we cut it back? I LOVE lilacs and want more blossoms next year. O.K., back to losing weight friends: I put a note of appreciation on the old thread...just in case you gals didn't see it: I 110% appreciate each & every one of you...there is no way I could have stuck with it this winter/spring without the patience, support, suggestions, distractions, entertainment, food porn, yummy sounding recipes (the stuff of food fantasies. Drool) and probably most of all: the compassion & sharing that goes on here. You're the best. And you should all be proud of each & every accomplishment. ![]()
