Sorry I was MIA last weekend. I took my kidlets to my aunts house for a "Girls Weekend" with her, my mom, my sister and her kids, and my cousin and her son. (I'm not really sure why we still call it "Girls Weekend" when there are so many little boys there now, but we do. ) It was crazy with 5 kinds under 5 running everywhere, but it was a lot of fun.

I stayed mostly on plan, but did make 2 not-so-great choices. One was with breakfast on Sat. morning. I brought my LC stuff that I knew she wouldn't have and was planning on making the Oopsie waffles for myself to have while everyone else was eating regular waffles, but I forgot my protein powder and didn't want to go out and buy another container of it when I have so much at home, still. So, I ate a regular high-carb waffle with s/f syrup instead. I think that I also over-did it a bit with LC grains (flat out wraps, dreamfields pasta). The other bad choice was a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie. They were fresh out of the oven and smelled soooooo good. I can pass up cookies without a problem as long as they aren't freshly baked. The smell is almost impossible for me to resist.

So, today I'm up about 4 lbs. I'm sure it's water weight, but it's still irritating. I think I'm coming down with a cold, too, which probably doesn't help. My throat is sore and my head is all congested. *sigh* I just want to crawl back into bed and sleep for a few more hours.

I've got to get to work. I'll be back later to respond to everyone.

Hi Angel,

Glad to see you and sorry you are not feeling well. I have faith in you, you are good about getting right back "in the game". It may take me a few days to recover and I would have a serious carb fest.

I hope you feel better. (((hugs)))

Menu

B: protein bar
L: smoothie
D: lettuce wrap sandwich

I would love to join your challenge. I am in need of some motivation. I just cant seem to get going. I plan on cooking today so that I am not going thru the fridge. I am going to take my measurements before I go to bed tonight and I will weigh in the morning.
My 40th B-Day is just around the corner and I do not want to be the Fat 40 year old. I want to be the Hot Mama that I know I can be. I just ordered a new 2 piece from Victoria's Secret for the summer and I want to look good in it.
So with everyone support I should look smokin hot in my pink bikini.
Looking forward to encouragement and support from all of you, I will do my best to give support back.

Dawn, You are certainly welcome to join us, but there are a few things you should know. We live in the San Francisco Bay Area. (Thus our name Bay Area Babes). We try to get together every month or so, so we will be discussing plans for that here. If you won't feel left out when we talk about those events, feel free to stay and join our group.

Liz, You are moving again, huh? Sounds like a great new place! A BBQ there would be a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to it.

My menu for today:
B: egg cream
L: atkins bar
D: chicken quesadilla on Flat Out bread, cauliflower

I'm off to bed soon. Good night everyone.

Yes, I move a lot. It is not fun, but I live in a apt and I only signed a short lease bc I did not know where I would be permantly staying. I signed a 13 month lease at the new place so it will be another year before I move again. The appt complex is really nice. It is brand new! It feels like a resort there. They have a fitness center that overlooks the pool with flat screens. It is awesome.

Nite Nite. I work at night tomorrow so and early am on Wed so it might not be until Wed afternoon that I check in again.

Wow! It's so quiet in here. Where is everyone?

Angela? Are you still alive?

HB, I'm up for lunch this Sunday, but I think Angela said she had to work until 5:30 or so? Would dinner work?

Liz, could you pull yourself away for a couple of hours this Sunday?

Hi Everyone! I am here. Tue nights I stay late for inventory and come in at 5am on Wed. So I may look MIA on those days but I am here just really busy. I try to check in at least daily.

Ladies, I am super exhausted. I worked 68 hours last week. I am on 6 day work weeks, with 11-12 hour shifts. I dont want to wine too much about it here but I thought you would understand why it is too hard for me to make it for a get together. I need the one day off to rest, do laundry etc. Please go on without me and as soon as I get this store into shape and get a better staff, my life wont be chaotic and I would love to have lunch/dinner etc. I plan for it to take a while. I initially thought 4-6 weeks but it might be more like 10-12 weeks. The situation I came into is pretty much a nightmare....but apparently that is why they hired me. I do see light at the end of the tunnel. So that is the good news!

I have hardly eaten in the last few days. I did have Outback for dinner tonight. My friend took me out as a special treat. I asked the server for loaded broccoli and she gave me a dirty look. I tried to explain it to her but she kept insisting that I wanted a loaded potato or a broccoli potato dish.

Menu

B: nothing
L: smoothie
D: filet with salad, broccoli soup and plain broccoli.

Hope you are all well!

Dropping a dress size can't really be compared to dropping X pounds of weight. The scale measures losses much differently from the measuring tape and our clothes.

With the proper fuel, adequate rest, and consistent, focused workouts, we can make major strides in losing inches -- i.e., clothes sizes -- when the scale reflects very little change.

I dropped two sizes in about 6 weeks when I began Callanetics, but the scale hardly budged.

I would encourage you to continue to do Callanetics, no fewer than 3-4 x per week, add in some cardio (if you haven't already) for some extra calorie/fat burning, and eat clean.

I think you can expect to see more inches lost in a month's time if you adhere to those things, and with your attitude, you're already there!

Yes I am but it is not too keep it secret from anyone but me. It is a subconscience thing for me. I have a hard time beating the 160's. Everytime I do, I sabatoge myself and end up at square one again, so I decided to not post my stats until I am comfortably in the 150's and know I can keep moving that "decade" down into the 140's without the sabatoge. I am so close, I can taste it. So hence the reason for my "secret".

Hello ladies...

Sorry for taking so long to respond...I haven't been in a very communicative mood lately. A lot of changes going on and haven't been eating too low carb either - mostly fruit and yogurt and egg creams - my appetite still hasn't fully returned from when I was sick.

Liz - sounds like you're doing great. Hope you can meet up with us soon.

HB - just from a glance through the posts, seems like you've been very busy. I can't wait to check them out, looks like a lot of excellent info! As far as getting together - I'm available either this Sunday evening, 5/4 or 5/18 (evening as well). That's so cool that Fawn may be able to meet us.

Angel - hope you're feeling better - hope you can make it for one of the get togethers.

Dawn!

I'm going to catch up on posts next week.
Hope y'all have a fun and productive weekend!!

HI ANGELA!! Totally understand, take your time.

Let's schedule May 18 as Fawn & Liz for sure can't do May 4 - OK?

YES, I have been a very busy girl!!

When you have time, this is an EXCELLENT READ:
(I've had to read it 4 times to finally "get it")

Fat loss with ketogenic: cyclical & targeted ketogenic w/weight training

I am starting this TODAY (see my last post in the thread) and btinc is coaching me (he's a nutritionist & contest prep coach (for bodybuilding) - super awesome! He sent me 4 PM's this morning with my own personal guidleines! Watch out! I'm gonna become Watch-Me-Shrink2! LOL! In my dreams!

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!!
XO,
HB

PS: this is what btinc just told me:
I would not call myself a professional trainer, but a contest prep coach, some call it a nutritionist. I do work with people with their workouts, but most of what i do is help prepare people with nutrition for bodybuilding, photo shoots, professional sports. I have been doing this as a way of living 15 years or so. So i guess you can call me a professional, not sure, but what i do know is i have educational background but more important is i have seen it and done it in the real world. In Twyla's journal you can see some pictures of fitness competitors that i have whip into contest shape.

Dear Lord,

I pray right now for Alan. You know exactly what is wrong with his heart. You know the workings of every part of his body. Touch him right now and strengthen him so that he can recover and heal quickly. Also, please be with the family and give them strength and peace during this difficult time.

If it is your will that he come to be with you now, comfort those here who love him and will miss him terribly. Please, though, allow him to live and be healthy for his daughter who already has lost so much with the death of her mother. She still needs her father, God. Your word says, "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer" so I pray now believing that Alan will be healed.

Thank you, Lord for your grace and mercy on your people.

In Jesus name,
Amen

Thank you HB and Angel! I know I can always count on our group to say prayers when people are in need.

I will keep you all posted on the outcome.

Angel, you truly have a special way with words. I know you will be a successful writer, you are very blessed. The prayer was beautiful and touched my heart. Thank you!
