amiga74 - I absolutely love the Chocolate, but I would recommend passing on the Vanilla flavor if you are super picky, it's not that good IMO.
Moretta- Thin So Fast is an older book written by Dr. Michael Eades. PSMF is his version of the protein sparing modified fasts that people use. (Almost like medifast) It's 4 protein shakes made with any low/no-carb beverage and on meal of 6-8oz. protein and 1cup each salad and low carb veg. You can use vinegar and oil for dressing, too. so far, I have done pretty well, there is some hunger, but nothing really unbearable - I can deal with it. I am down from 233.8 to 226.6 since Monday (one week - 7.2#) I'm going to stick with this awhile and see what happens. Julie |

I'd be interested in trying this. Have ordered the book through my local library so it'll be a few days before it gets here. Do you know if the Eadeses still approve of doing this?
I've GAINED 11 pounds in the last 8 weeks trying to do low carb (keeping my carbs to 30g or less a day and the last few days have been trying to adhere to Atkins induction rules). I'm desperate. |

I'm still doing well - I didn't lose any weight over the weekend - went to a wedding shower AND a 40th b-day party and unfortunately, I overdid the partying ---but, not too much damage done -
I would love to have some "shaking buddies" to talk to --all are welcome. Have a good day, Julie |

To DarleenMB- I believe that Dr. Eades still uses this plan to lose weight when he comes back from a vacation to kickstart things again. The book is old, but I know there is an article talking to Dr. Mike about PSMF on "thesteaksarehigh.com - it's a blog and the lady contacted Dr. Mike and talked to him about this PSMF- you have to do a little looking around, but I believe it's still there on her blog.
Hope this helps, Julie |

Hey Julie (and Everyone Else)-
Thought you might be interested in joining some of us on our PSMF thread: PSMF! Anyone? Most of us are doing Lyle's Rapid Fat Loss Plan which is also PSMF. Personally I do both shakes and meals mostly because it's easier for me to drink my required protein/calories! Pop your head in and say hi if you'd like!! ![]() ~Danielle~ Last edited by ddailey320 : 04-30-2008 at 12:16 PM. |

Lyle's plan is a PSMF and he does reference work done by Dr. Eades. On the Rapid Fat loss program, you calculate the amount of protein needed according to your lean body mass and activity level (For example, I eat .9g Protein x my lbm which results in 103 g Protein/day) Other than that, you eat low carb/low fat. Depeding what catagory you are in (1,2 or 3) depending on your body fat% you then have 2 free meals week and/or weekly refeeds (cat. 1 and 2). After a predetermined number of weeks on the program (again dependent on body fat% and lbm) you take a 2 week break from the program eating on a more maintanence type eating program to reset your metabolism
I'm sure I'm not explaining this all that well. You can visit his website and forum at www bodyrecomposition dot com which outlines everything! Hope this has been (somewhat) helpful
