Good Morning Ladies!
I don't even have time to look at all of yesterday's "goings ons". This has been a helluva week and I am exhausted! I have an all day meeting today, so hoping I can catch up later tonight! Have my DD's dog for a week and she kept me up ALL night last night. I already almost had a major meltdown at work this week...I feel like it may happen today for lack of sleep. I don't do well unless I get at least 7 hours/night! You all enjoy the day! Kathy

Tommie- Just eat meat, meat & more meat
, Mary posted snack ideas last weekend if you want to go back to that thread and print it off. I found it helpful. I think the diet pop & using splenda may be stalling me, not sure- gotta stop drinking it to find out! You can do it girl !! |

Morning Gorgeous Gals!!!!Onefit, you seem a little down... everything okay?? Anybody who can "pull" themselves into 7 miles worth of exercise is okay by me!Okay... what's a Tommie Day?? I missed something!Shala, the two legged dogs were the kind I was talking about. For some reason I thought of this commericial where two women are in a bar and one says to the other "do you smell meat?" and the other pulls a burger (?) or some kind of meat out of her purse, her GF says, "oh yeah, like that's gonna work" only to look up and see 3 gorgeous men hovering over them! All I could think about was a trail of men following you home with your hamburger perfume!!! Well, it sounds like the fundraiser was a great success ... you really are an amazing teacher and ya'll are gonna have such fun on the trip. Morning Diana! ![]() Kathy, hope you made it thru your day without hurting anybody and that you can catch up on your sleep tonight. I know what you mean though. I have read that you supposedly need less sleep as you get older but I don't believe it for a minute! I seem to need a good 8 hours to feel good and energetic. Ever since I started taking the calcium and magnesium supplements in the evening I've been sleeping pretty good, though I keep the A/C so cold at night that the cats seem to like laying on me to keep warm and they wake me up with their body heat. ![]() Ing, I know you're already on the road but praying for a safe trip and loads of fun for ya!!! Be careful on the road. Morning Brandi! ![]() Hey Kitty... I know you're out there somewhere. You must be super busy too - I don't think I've seen any posts from you the past few days. Hope everything is okay with ya and you're just busy. Hey Cathy... know you're getting excited about Disney World!! Heck like I said... I am excited for you! I just LOVE Disney.Well, another busy day in line for me again ... I just love springtime! Between laundry - which literally took me ALL day ... and I am not exaggerating this either - and the yard work, I woke up really stiff and sore today. That's okay though... counts as exercise!! ![]() I don't know if ya'll have heard of this guy Jerry Baker - called "America's Master Gardener." Anyway, he has all these tonics and potions that you mix up using common household items like ammonia, dishwashing liquid, baby shampoo, antiseptic mouthwash, hot peppers, tea made from tobacco, stuff like that. It is supposed to boost your lawn, help your flowers, ward off bugs, critters, and even dogs too! My rose bed is across the front of my house and I have this problem with people who walk their dogs and letting them pee on my roses!!!! Anyway, some people think he's a bit of a quack, but I finally bought a couple of his (rather expensive) books and that is what I have been mixing up most of this week - his tonics to spray on my flower beds and yard. I don't know if his formulas work yet, but I tell ya, I sure have the cleanest smelling yard in the neighborhood!!! ![]() So how's the diet going everybody? I think I've found the right combination for me. I hate that strict low carb doesn't work for me because I'd sure like to see a more rapid weight loss than 1 or 2 pounds a week, but my body seems to prefer a more balanced diet. I feel GREAT, full of energy and happy!! I'm not craving like I was at all, or feeling deprived, since I'm no longer calling any food off limits. And even though I am eating carbs, I haven't had a single binge, or desire to binge. Like I mentioned I really feel that I am in the right place mentally and emotionally to do a balanced diet now. I still feel guilty posting in a forum that I am not practicing though but I can't leave my best friends! Well, just finishing up my coffee and about to grab some breakfast so I'm off and back at it ladies. It's an absolutely beautiful day and I'm gonna get out and play in it. Ya'll have a wonderful and fun day!!!

Oh hey Kim and Tommie!! Ya'll must've been posting the same time as me. Didn't mean to overlook ya'll for sure!
![]() Tommie, sorry about the scales, but you'll knock that off in no time. You always do! But yeah, I'll have to dig thru my stuff and see what goodies I have to pass on to you for induction. Will get back to ya on that one! Let me see if I have that snack list handy and I'll just repost it for ya. |

Good morning all!
Geez why do they keep moving the smilies around? ![]() I'm feeling better today. DH and I talked for hours yesterday, and I think we'll make it through everything. The whole thing is about his stress (as I thought). As per the girls, they are nothing but classmates - he just said used them to get a rise outa me - which worked. Thank God I didn't call them. I told him that he has to talk to me when he's stressed so we can de-stress him. Why push me away after 20 years of marriage? He's under a lot of pressure with his health issue (which we're still waiting on), his schooling and homework, worried that when he's done he won't get a job in the field, we may have to move for him to get a job...I told him that's all 3 years away! Why make it a big issue now. If we have to move, we'll move. Anyhow, that's the short version for ya. Thank you all for being there for me this week. I love you guys ![]() I think I still may take the additional hours from my client that he offered. That'll be a little more income, and maybe we can start some savings. I have yet to talk to DH about it, was not at the top of my list to talk about. Have a great day everyone!!

Kimmy....I think you should surprise your husband with a weekend away!! If you can afford it that is!! But check into it!! It may not be as expensive as you think!! Just the two of you go away and sleep in late...EAT out for breakfast....don't do any dishes...go for a dip in the pool...buy a bottle of wine and watch sappy movies!! Dang...now I want to go!! Crap!!
Mary...I started to change and just count calories, but I'm like you, I want to see a more dramatic weight loss!! Those 1 lbs every week kill me!! But 10 lbs...Thats all I'm asking for!!!! I once lost about 15lbs in 6 weeks just carrying a notebook and writing down everything I ate. I pretty much ate whatever I wanted, but kept my calories to 1200 a day. I also drank lots of water and got in at least 20 minutes of exercise a day. I thought about going back to that....I ate wheat bread and would eat like a turkey sandwich with lots of veg's for supper everynight.... I don't know. I know if I would exercise I would see some results!! Brandi....I know...I know...but dang...I'm sick of meat!! UGH...why couldn't I be born with the SKINNY GENE??? |

Hey Kim ... good to hear that ya'll are able to talk and work things out. Still, if it was me... and I'm just saying ... that whole thing about "trying to get a rise out of you" with these other women, well... I ain't liking that at all!
That is no way to treat another human being - especially your wife of 20 years!!! I don't know, maybe I'm just meaner than you but I'm still with Tommie and Shala, I think I woulda still called them, but that's just me. I'm just saying... Seriously though, I'm glad ya'll did talk and are working things out. ![]() Tommie, here's that snack list I posted last week for Ing ... now, some of this is not induction friendly of course, but you can pick those out of the list. When I get a few minutes I'll go through my computer for stuff too. Low Carb Snacks Pork rinds Baby bel or other wax coated prewrapped cheese Turkey or regular pepperoni Beef jerky Slim Jims Salami slices Canned snack sausages Foil pack tuna or crab Soy nuts Roasted almonds Roasted peanuts Macadamia nuts Pumpkin seeds LC protein bars For the road (pack in cooler) Diet sodas & water Revolution Rolls Boiled eggs and deviled eggs Cheese chunks Salami & cream cheese bites (premade in a bag) Satisfying the Munchies the Low Carb Way Its important to have access to nutritious low carb snack food so that if you get hungry between meals you wont reach for crackers and chips. Ideally, a low carb snack should have protein, healthy fat, and some fiber (so the best thing would be to have some raw veggies with your eggs or jerky). Here are some easy snack ideas. Celery with peanut butter Celery with tuna salad Hard boiled eggs Deviled eggs Dill pickles and cheddar cheese (no kidding, its a great combo) Ό cup berries with 1/3 cup cottage cheese Nuts (keep raw ones in the freezer if you think youll overeat them) Sunflower seeds (get them in the shell so it will take longer to eat them) Other seeds (How to Toast Pumpkin or Squash Seeds) Low Carb Trail Mix Jerky (beef, turkey, etc.) (try to find low sugar varieties) Low carb shakes Cheese sticks, such as string cheese Sugar free jello, alone or with cottage cheese and a sprinkling of nuts Cheese with a few apple slices 4 oz plain or sugar-free yogurt with berries and flax seed meal Smoked salmon and cream cheese on cucumber slices Lettuce Roll-ups roll luncheon meat, egg salad, tuna, etc. and veggies in lettuce leaves Lunch Meat Roll-ups roll cheese, veggies, etc, in lunch meat (read the labels for carbs on the lunch meat) Roll the lunch meat or the lettuce around bean dip, spinach dip, or other low carb dip or spread. Raw veggies and spinach dip, or other low carb dip Pork rinds, with or without dip Ricotta cheese with fruit and/or nuts and/or flax seed meal Mushrooms with cheese spread inside (or other spreads or dips) Low carb snack bars (watch out for sugar alcohols, especially maltitol) Pepperoni Chips - Microwave pepperoni slices until crisp - great with cheeses and dips Garlic Parmesan Flax Seed Crackers Parmesan Crisps Good when you want a crunchy snack. Peanut Butter Protein Balls |

Hey Mary- Just got done looking at some of Jerry Baker's stuff- I'm sure the mixtures will work- It's probably more of a natural way compared to chemicals!! I'm glad your diet is going good for you
![]() Kim- I am so happy for ya!! I'm glad you guys talked through things. Guys never talk about their feelings, mine doesn't for sure! Hopefully things will turn around for ya both!Tommie- I know whatcha mean about the meat- I don't know if I can hack another burger or dog!! I know when I was on ww Meat was so high in points accept chicken n fish!! And then I couldn't have as much as I wanted! My mind gets soooooooooo tired of thinking about food and what plan I should be on!! And by the way- from your picture you look great anyway!!! I don't see fat! But I know, we all have something we don't like!! And I tell ya one thing- after you have kids your boobs aren't the same- just call me 39 longs![]()

Tommie - A weekend away sounds great. I'd like to go to the Falls. It's close enough that if something happens, we can be home in 20 minutes. I really don't want to leave the kids alone though and I don't really have anyone to stay with them.
Mary - I do still have the phone numbers. Don't you think I'm going to get rid of them. I'll keep them just in case. From what he said, after June when school's done, he won't see either one again anyways. |
