Cardio Kick boxing kicked my butt last week, of course I am the biggest one in the class huffing and puffing felt like all eyes were on me so I was thinkin twice about going back. I also was even more discouraged because the scale didnt move. But this week I was ready and did pretty good and felt so good after!!!! I am focused on Atkins and workin out and keeping the weight off this time.

Question:
Because I am working out at least 1hr a day (5days), should I be eating more ?

Also:
Has anyone tried the egg creamer ? How is it?

Hello and welcome to all of the new people!

There are so many posters on this challenge that I'm afraid if I try to name each one I will leave someone out!

I started Stillman's yesterday and have done well today. My menu for today is:
B - 1 HB egg
L - Hamburger patty, split in half and eaten between 2 rev. rolls made with low-fat cottage cheese. I added a dab of mustard and a touch of low-carb catsup.
D - Not sure; maybe just cottage cheese and Splenda/Cinnamon
Also, water and coffee

I sure hope that I can get a ketostix to turn purple. No matter what I did on Atkins, I could never get any "color".

All of you are doing so well! You keep inspiring me; I love reading each post!

Just checking in to say hello. Been a busy day, and I have stayed under 35 carbs. Really frustrating day at work and I think everyone in the building had microwave popcorn. Got a good de- stressing walk in this evening and hope to get at least ten minutes on the exercise bike.

Good night to all -- Have a good hump day tomorrow!!

water water water water

when I first started living the lowcarb lifestyle I started out walking 3 days a week, I could only make it a half a mile before I was worn out !! and my legs hurt so bad it took me days to get over it. Over the last 6 months I have really worked my way into shape!! Now I do the Biggest Loser DVD's I have to combine workout nows to get a really good workout because they got easy. (I can't belive how far I have came). I do a every other day type thing. One day I do warm up-cardo workout then I do the boot camp work out then the cool down.. the next day I do woman sculpting then 30 mins of weight lifting. I work out 5 to 6 days a week.

Hey Everybody! Wow we've gotten so many new people to this challenge! Welcome Everyone!!

My weight loss has slowed down quite a bit lately. I might need to change things up a little bit. Summer is coming soon and I will do lots of swimming and bike riding and tennis playing! It's making me make excuses to have a bite of this or a taste of this. I'm not perfect but it's something I really need to work on not doing because I know it doesn't help!

Thanks Magikal for the suggestions I will add some broc. or small salad. You are doing Stilmans right? What exactly is that? and how does it compare to Atkins ?

Also Egg Foo Young is that ok without the Gravy ?

Good Morning everyone!

For those who have tried the bruschetta burger at Applebees, I have copied my own version which was delicious. Easy as pie:
-2 tomatoes, cut in half, squeeze out most of the insides, and chop up
-2 cloves garlic, minced
-1/2 tsp dried basil
-1/4 tsp salt
-pepper to taste
-2-3 tablespoones evoo.
Mix everything and you will have a great topping for your burger or chicken. I made a packet of pesto sauce and covered my burger with pesto and 2 slices of provalone cheese, then the bruschetta.

Water is hard for me. I love my coffee and iced tea. My goal until May 1st is no less than 64 oz of clean plain water everyday. So far today, I have 20 oz down, there is no reason, I cannot get another 44 +.

Today's menu:
Breakfast: 5 sausage links
Snack: 1/2 cucumber
Lunch: bruschetta burger as listed above
Snack: 1/2 cucumber
Dinner: salad from McD's, lots of running to do tonight.
Snack if needed: fried cheese

Have a good day.
Cindy

Yea Magic!! And just know that your patience and persistence is helping all of us, too, b/c we see that even when you're not losing, if you don't jump ship, you will see pay off!!

Do you guys have those moments when you can actually 'feel' your body losing weight?? Since I've started, I've had that feeling 2 x. Once was last night.

Funny thought - I'm a night person, so I usually exercise at night. Last night, after I did some chores, I felt energized and wanted to exercise, so I went out on my kids' trampoline w/ my timer and just jumped and jumped!! I'm sure I was a sight! But really, nothing like that to get your heart racing!! My dogs just kept looking at me like I was crazy! When I was younger, I would go walking at parks at midnight with my dog!! I can't imagine doing that now - but I do like to exercise at night!

Yesterday's Menu:
Breakfast: Cheese stick and some almonds
Lunch: Taco meat w/ beans & cheese & a little sour cream
Snack: Sunflower Seeds
Dinner: Chicken breast and asparagus
Snack: LC ice cream bar

Today:
Breakfast: 2 hb eggs and 2 pieces bacon
Snack: Sunflower seeds
Lunch: Chicken salad w/ 0 carbs
Dinner: Weight Watchers Sour Cream Chicken - it's yummy and easy and goes in crock pot all day - anyone tried it??

Really girls, thanks for just posting and supporting - I've never gone this long this strong and w/ a complete attitude change!! I appreciate all of you!

I didn't start exercising consistently until I was 250 lbs. Right now I'm on my second round of Couch to 5K (upping my speed this time around) & do toning DVD a few times a week. I'm also thinking of joing a Curves-type gym. I am by no means an avid exerciser, but it works for me.

slimdiva - Glad you're adding some veggies - very important! As long as you're getting through your workouts OK, you should be fine with what you're eating. Your body will tell you if it needs more fuel. To make sure you're getting enough calories - BMR calculator, Figure in Exercise

I do this too. While I do think that we shouldn't be afraid of bites, tastes, whole servings of _____ here and there if we want to make this a lifestyle change, I admit that I can overdo it. I'm trying to stay strictly on plan till my anniversary on 5/29.

Has anyone done the Fat Fast to the letter T? I am just not losing and I know I am doing everything correctly. I have been on induction now for 3 weeks, exercising 5X a week & drinking about 150 oz. of water per day. I am in ketosis but nothing is moving on the scale at all. I have read up on the fat fast (whick sounds purdy gross) for resistant people and I am now thinking myself to be resistant. Has anyone else been there? If I do not lose at least a pound by Friday, I am going to begin on Saturday.

Magic - I'm eating brown beans - I think they are the only ones I'm not supposed to have. But I am not strictly atkins, just really trying to do low carb. same thing w/ the nuts and sunflower seeds - I know that as I get closer to my goal weight or reach a plateau, I might have to change that, too, but eating stuff like that is something that I can do for life. plus it breaks up the boredome that comes w/ being sooo strict. Even if I'm getting a few carbs on these things, overall, I am eating sooo much healthier than before. Kind of what I go by is if I'm having cravings or feel hungry - and I don't, and I am losing. Have you ever done anything similar? Or were you always really strict w/ what you ate? The long, skinny pack of sunflower seeds that I buy say 5 carbs for the whole package (which is one serving) and it takes me 3 days to eat the whole thing. I find it a good and easy snack when I'm wanting to munch. Do you see a danger in that? Meaning, do you think I'll run into problems w/ that?

I also love refired beans one my fav things , but i dont eat em much , I try to pick special occasions and then i enjoy a serving and no that its not a full blow out cheat , meaning i keep to plan no matter , thats what i have had to learn that my small indulges dont have to be a all day and nite free for all lol....I am on a few challenges so I am being very strict right now , but this is a wol and a woe , theres gonna be parties and holidays that I think we have to learn how to manage food and that is wat im doin right now im focused on losing 100 by november, got a few holidays im going on in august and next x mas so i would really like to be near my goal by then ....

Congrats on losing 3 lbs! I hope the scale moves for me this week, but It's not looking hopeful. Not sure what I need to be doing to get my weight lossing jump started again. I'll wait awhile longer and see what happens.

Not that I've experienced those stalls yet b/c I haven't been here as long as you guys, but isn't that funny how we expect the scale to move like every single time??

I am not posting a weight change on here except for every week. I think I'm about 243 now - that is a loss of 12 lbs in 1 1/2 weeks!! In the big picture, those are pretty good results, but still, it's like I find myself almost thinking, "That's all?"

I know that my loss won't continue as quickly, so I just really want to turn that mindset around now so that when I DO hit those plateaus (and I'm sure that I will!) I'm not totally freaked out!! To me, this is even more reason to stay away from the scale as much as possible. It's hard b/c it IS such motivation when you see the scale move, but if you're just focused on the scale, it's easier to get stuck in the here and now instead of looking at the big picture!

Okay, how deranged am I? I'm really doing GREAT w/ hunger and cravings, but this morning when I was in the shower (I seem to have a lot of thinking moments while I'm in the shower!) I remembered dreaming that I was cheating!!! I dreamed that I was in some circumstance where I felt like I would offend whomever it was that was with me. I know that we were in a coffee shop, and at first, I just ordered a chai latte (my favorite,) but w/ out me knowing it, someone ordered my some pie. And then when I got the plate, there were 2 pieces of pie!!! And then I remember thinking in my dream that I would have to get on here and tell you guys that I had eaten a bunch of pie, but that I was getting back on the wagon!!

Anyone else experience strange food dreams??

Have a good day, ladies.
