I do an Army 10K in September with the hubby up in DC, but that is the only one I pay attention to. My hubby is big into marathons.....not me. He is doing a 195 mile relay with five others in August here in Colorado. That is nuts if you ask me. I can barely make it 10. hahhah! Let me know if you hear more about that one though.

If I understand, it isnt a particular race, but a program to get you running. I have NEVER been able to run! I was the one in gym class who practically walked the entire mile on the track I HATED it. But something about approaching my 40s I am itching to try NEW things Each week you increase your walk/jog cycles. Here is the first week - you do it three times per week.

Brisk five-minute warmup walk. Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes.

I just dont know how to time the minutes. Do I have to keep looking at my watch??? That would be a pain!!

Great job on doing a 10K - That is AWESOME!!!

Thanks! My hubby is really motivated about running. I think that is the only reason I can do this.
For time, I use my IPOD and have certain songs running. I just have done it so much that I have memorized where in the song or list I should be. Other than that I don't know. Let me know what you come up with.

BTW, The more I run the more I still hate it

Hi Girls! I've been away too too long! I'm such a jerk when it comes to starting off strong with exercise and then by like, Wednesday it all goes downhill and you know what happens over the weekend

BUT

I think I need the "Just for today" approach. I'm big on the "well, today's the busy day, so I'll go to the gym on Tuesday instead" but something always comes up on Tuesday...so I'm only going to focus on today. Today I will do SOME kind of exercise.

I did the first 2 weeks of Couch to 5K and it's really not that bad - for me it goes faster when you're constantly changing speeds. I also hate running and would LOVE if I could be one of those freaks who like, loves it

Hiya Aija! Glad you found your way back Like anything it's better to focus on one meal, one day instead of the big long journey. You can do it!!!

What are you doing today, Stacey?

I did another hour of Callanetics on Saturday and yesterday was a rest day. Today I really need to get in some cardio/weights. TBS prolly. Have a great day

Hi Lisa and Aija! Today I am strongly annoyed..get this. I am doing a favor for a friend and said I would watch her 6 month old till Wednesday. She called last night and said she would be droping him off at 0730. I put in my callanetics at 0600 and four miutes later there is a knock on the door. Yep! The baby was being dropped off! I couldn't believe it. No call or anything. Do you think I have the right to be a little annoyed? Should I say something?

Sorry about crabbing to you all! I just had to get that out I hopefully will get my callanetics done this afternoon, or will do when the hubby gets home from work. Hope you guys are having a better Monday than me!

How did we all do today? I was back at the gym with a vengeance! 20 minutes treadmill - run/walk intervals, 15 minutes elliptical - high/low intervals, and some free weights for arms and core.

Tomorrow's another day!

Last night I ended up do my callanetics (you were right, Lisa, it helped relax me). This morning I did yoga sculpt. This is my third time and I think my balance is getting better. I didn't feel like i was gonna fall over at every move :P

I know what you mean I have to change it up, or I go insane. I have also heard that changing it up is great for your body, it keeps it guessing.

So funny thing happened today. My hubby called from work and said he got a call from the commander and she said we are on the list to PCS to Ft Hood, Tx. Man they can't make up their minds where we are going. Gotta love the military. I think they just like messing with our minds...hahah! So hopefully we should find out if it is Australia or Texas...please help me pray for Australia!

Keep me posted on your move plans Ive never lived anywhere but MD & PA so I would probably welcome a change/move anywhere LOL

I got in another 30 min of TBS this AM. I should have done 10/10 but felt like cardio/weights. It is another beautiful day here, so I may even walk some.

Aija! Are you back in the groove, chick?

I was just wondering about Aija too. Hope she is keeping up the gym thing.

I will. It is a hurry up and wait game with the military. It takes them forever to figure these things out. I have just learned to go with the flow...know what I mean?

Have you ever tried one of those no noodle lasagnas? If so, are they any good? The hubby wants something Italian this weekend and I was trying to think of an idea.

Let me know about that Lasagna!

And Yay Dreamfields - I'm not on LC but I figure it's gotta count for SOMETHING, right? haha!

Tuesday - Was feeling kinda tired/bored - ran/walked for almost a half hour, then went on the elliptical, and got less than 5 minutes in before I thought to myself "ah, screw it..." haha! We all have those days, though - I tell myself, Rome wasn't built in a day - at least I went, and I got some vigorous cardio in. No sense pushing too hard on my first full week back!

Wednesday - 20 minutes run/walk, 30 minutes elliptical, and some strength - mostly abs.

Tonight - I was GONNA go and do a bunch of strength only tonight, since I was going to work from 7 to 7:30. THEN chaos ensued and I'm here until 9:30. So I'm just gonna go to bed. At LEAST I won't eat anything before I go to bed - I made a huge batch of "everything but the kitchen sink" veggie stew - half box of Dreamfields rotini, can of tomato sauce, cup of veggie broth, and all the vegetables that were lying around. Delish AND so filling!

You guys get workout DVDs on Netflix? Hmmmm...I'm so addicted to watching back-seasons of TV shows, I don't know if I could give up a slot for...exercise
