LOL Kim... no race here... I'm on the SLOW (and hopefully steady) weight loss wagon now remember? Diana will be miles ahead of this tortoise!

Terie, it was beautiful today and I really enjoyed being outside. I have to enjoy it now because in a couple of months it'll be impossible to be out there for more than a few minutes.

Theresa, your baskets look beautiful!!

Hope you sell bunches of them. Hey sounds like things are winding down for ya on the school stuff yeaaaa!

You'll drop the weight as soon as you can get yourself back on a pattern of eating regularly.

Ing, my grandson is a doll!

He's only 8 months old and it's been so long since my son was this age that all this is like brand new again. It's just so sweet watching him struggle to try to pull himself up and stand - he wants so bad to just get up and walk but just can't quite figure those legs out yet!

So sorry that you are having such difficulties with your eyes. I have pretty bad eyes and I'm overdue for an exam myself. Without insurance I'm not looking forward to it double time. Ugh... Oooo, bet you are looking forward to your trip! I'm sure you said where you're going but I've forgotten...

Morning, Ladies!

Three days of rock-solid induction down and the scale moved a pound. Or close enough that I am claiming it anyway!

And I woke up with a very "normal" blood sugar number, despite reducing my insulin these last couple weeks. Time for another little reduction in dosage...I gotta use as little as possible to keep from storing fat!

Unfortunately the eyeball thing still has me bummed out. It's easy to get a pity party going around this stuff. Thanks, all you guys for your concern and good vibes. Yes, Kathy, all of these things are issues from the diabetes. I have macular edema and little hemmorhages in my retinas that leave fatty and protein deposits on my retinas. That is what I had surgery to correct...sort of cauterize the oozing areas. And now the glaucoma thing is, to me, sort of out of the blue, although the diabetes is a big risk factor. But I guess I gotta do my best and not squander time worrying. So I will take my eyedrops and do whatever else I have to.

I "hear" you on the no-insurance part, Mary...I only have medical, so some of the eye stuff is covered because it is diabetes related. But I don't know if they will extend coverage to the glaucoma or if the connection will be too "thin" in their creepy insurance minds. It sure is expensive to be sick!

But you gotta get your eye exams and keep up with stuff, and catch things early! So please get you in there as soon as you are able to.

You're grandson sounds like a little peach

! Kids can be adorable, but the whole kid-land is a place that I consider "nice to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there." So, Mary, I think you have the prime position now!

I am driving down to Kentucky ("down South" for me, but not for some of you

) on Thursday to see the Rolex Three-Day Event (horse stuff). It's a pretty big deal in the horse biz. The same horse and rider teams compete in dressage, cross-country, and stadium jumping. It is one of the competitions that is a qualifier for the Olympic team, so it is important this year. I will be driving back on Monday, but will take my computer and be online if the hotel wi-fi works right

Kitty, sounds like you got the real exercise "high"! That's great. I can't imagine having it at the moment, but I WANT it

Good morning ladies!

My brain is working today. LOL. DH and I did not talk yesterday. I was not emotionally ready for it last night. Instead I cleaned out some closets and brought out some spring/summer clothes and put away some winter ones. I had to keep myself busy.

I'm working at the contractor's office today, so I'll be here on and off. I talked to him a little about what's going on and he's offered to advance me a loan if I need to leave the house. We're also talking about me taking on some more hours here, so I'll increase my income to support myself. One less thing to stress about.

He also suggested that DH may be just smokescreening me, trying to get reassurance that I love him. I kind of feel that way today as well. But I'm too hurt right now to talk to DH about it. I do know though that these 2 girls exist; I went through his cell phone again and he's been calling both and receiving calls from them. So it's still an issue to deal with.

I want to thank you all for the support yesterday. You gals are wonderful!

I couldn't find better friends anywhere.

Oh and on another note, I lost 2 pounds last week. My weigh in was Monday morning. Now I'm back to my pre-cheat weight in my ticker - 184!

Kim! I just checked in because I was wondering how you were today. Congratulations on your 2-pound loss!

My gut feeling is that your husband is dealing with a lot of issues. The health thing, the midlife thing, all that stuff. The calls he is making and getting are inappropriate--absolutely--but may be relatively harmless. I think people under stress sometimes go through a self-centered (or even selfish) phase where they need to find a lot of gratification, and sometimes they look outside of the group of people they should be relying on. Sometimes, like your boss suggested, it could be that they are trying to play the "jealous" card to get reassurance. Either way, people can be rotten (thus the enormous popularity of dogs

).

If what you have is worth sticking through, then stick it out. Either way, you are going to be OK. It sounds like your boss is supportive and understanding and that sure should help. Rely on the people who care about you and put some energy into taking care of YOU!

Good morning ladies..thanks so much for the Happy Birthday wishes!! It was a good one, started off kinda bad with the bf, had a big fight Friday night...but it ended ok I suppose...gee, gettin tired of that crap and drama though!

My Mom had a big cookout for me Sunday...my Dad smoked a brisket and ribs..OMG, girls my Daddy can do some smokin let me tell ya! It was soooooooo good...I did eat a bunch of it...but I skipped the tater salad

and all the trimmings...luckily mom made me some deviled eggs, so I was happy.. My sister in law is a cake decorator, and she made me THE BEST sugar free chocolate cake...I know it has carbs, but I didn't care, I ate a piece the size of my HEAD....with low carb ice cream..YUM!

I got lotsa goodies...the kids bought me beautiful flower baskets for the porch...mom and dad got me a beautiful tennis braclet with matching earings..in my birthstone (diamonds, of course) and I got my fav perfume and all kinds of nice things..it was a good day.

I hope everyone had a great weekend, I took the day off Monday and played hookie...today is crazy, and tomorrow will be WORSE....getting ready for the hamburger fundraiser...yikes...I will be nuts by the end of the day tomorrow....good thing I carry that bottle of Jack in my trunk!!!

Good Morning my Lil Beauties!!!

I had a heck of a weekend!! Saturday we sat at Ty's track meet all day!! We are all sooo sunburnt!!! It was 80+ degree's!! Ty won ONE metal and was tickled pink!!

I played Hooky yesterday too!! Ty's LAST track meet of the year was yesterday and Of course she didn't tell me until Sunday night!! So I skipped work to attend!! I was already sun burnt from Saturday and LORDY!! I'm really bad today!! I had on flip flops from Saturday and yesterday and I have a farmers tan from HELL!! My feet are about twice their normal size today! They are swelling...don't know if its just from the tops of my feet being sun burnt or what? Even the top of my head is sun burnt!! UGH!! Ty done GREAT yesterday...Ran in 4 events and brought home 3 metals!! Would have been 4, but they got disqualified in one race...someone dropped the batton! But she finally got one Silver metal!! She got 2nd place outta 49 runners!! I was sooo proud. Didn't get home from the track meet until after 8:00 last night!! I was wore smooth out!!

Kim.....You need me and Shala to come smack some sense into that DH of yours??? If you do, girl you just give us a call!! But don't EVER feel like you can't make it on your own!! Your strong and beautiful!! Just remember that!!!

Shala....got your b-day present here on my desk!! I forgot to take it home friday so it sat here all weekend!! Im gonna put it in the truck right now!!

I would tell you all that I ate perfectly legal this weekend, but it would be a BIG FAT LIE!! I made fried pies again!! Dang...I love those things!! I gotta get back on some kind of eating plan, but who knows what its gonna be!! ][/i]

I just checked in because I was wondering how you were today. Congratulations on your 2-pound loss! My gut feeling is that your husband is dealing with a lot of issues. The health thing, the midlife thing, all that stuff. The calls he is making and getting are inappropriate--absolutely--but may be relatively harmless. I think people under stress sometimes go through a self-centered (or even selfish) phase where they need to find a lot of gratification, and sometimes they look outside of the group of people they should be relying on. Sometimes, like your boss suggested, it could be that they are trying to play the "jealous" card to get reassurance. Either way, people can be rotten (thus the enormous popularity of dogs ). If what you have is worth sticking through, then stick it out. Either way, you are going to be OK. It sounds like your boss is supportive and understanding and that sure should help. Rely on the people who care about you and put some energy into taking care of YOU!

I had a heck of a weekend!! Saturday we sat at Ty's track meet all day!! We are all sooo sunburnt!!! It was 80+ degree's!! Ty won ONE metal and was tickled pink!! I played Hooky yesterday too!! Ty's LAST track meet of the year was yesterday and Of course she didn't tell me until Sunday night!! So I skipped work to attend!! I was already sun burnt from Saturday and LORDY!! I'm really bad today!! I had on flip flops from Saturday and yesterday and I have a farmers tan from HELL!! My feet are about twice their normal size today! They are swelling...don't know if its just from the tops of my feet being sun burnt or what? Even the top of my head is sun burnt!! UGH!! Ty done GREAT yesterday...Ran in 4 events and brought home 3 metals!! Would have been 4, but they got disqualified in one race...someone dropped the batton! But she finally got one Silver metal!! She got 2nd place outta 49 runners!! I was sooo proud. Didn't get home from the track meet until after 8:00 last night!! I was wore smooth out!! Kim.....You need me and Shala to come smack some sense into that DH of yours??? If you do, girl you just give us a call!! But don't EVER feel like you can't make it on your own!! Your strong and beautiful!! Just remember that!!! Shala....got your b-day present here on my desk!! I forgot to take it home friday so it sat here all weekend!!
