Happy Monday, Ladies!

Today I have to go to the ophthamologist and have my eyes checked. I recently had to have laser surgery done for my macular edema and today they check to see whether we got it all. They have to inject dye into my arm and do a horrid series of very bright light flash photos (I find that part TRULY tortuous). But hopefully I don't need any more surgery. Hopefully things are starting to look better now, with 3+ weeks of "normal" blood sugars?

So today begins day 3 of SERIOUS INDUCTION and I have not been eating enough calories, maybe...1100-1300? WHY is the scale not moving? I tend to be impatient about these things, especially after I had such a great start out of the gate. Is this going to be another diet/WOE that doesn't work for ME? After you have dieted and failed so many times I think you get a little gunshy and give up sooner than usual. But really, I would have expected SOME scale movement....no?

Good morning ladies! Just got done reading all your posts from the weekend.

Ing- I do post from work - It's hard for me on the weekends b/c of the kids. Everytime I try to get on they want me. But after reading all your posts from the weekend, I feel I miss out on all the girly talk. Hopefuly everything goes okay at the doctor's. Couldn't imagine having my eyes worked on. As far as the diet - stick w/it, every diet has its ups & downs. I felt like giving up yesterday after eating a twix bar and chips and salsa I am going to have to start exercising b/c even though I have lost 10 pounds since Feb. - I am still wearing the same size, kinda loose, but I should be down a size!! Hang in there

Kim - haven't heard from ya lately, are you doing okay?

Mary- Read where you had tornado warnings I would definetly take a small earthquake than a TORNADO I couldn't live in tornado valley as they call it!!! I get freaked out everytime we have a bad storm. Sounds like you had another great weekend in your garden.

Saturday the kids & I went to Chuckie Cheese for a birthday party. The kids had fun and I had fun watching em. That's 1st time I have been. Don't know if you guys have a chuckie cheese or not. I was good on the diet. NO PIZZA- I had hot wings and a salad. Sunday I was exhausted! I ended up cheating a little But back on track this morning 48 more days till Maui!
Just gotta get motivated to exercise. I didn't even get on the scale this morning.

I wrapped up the source evaluations for one class...need to write up a literary/book sharing 15 min talk for saturday then get my 5 page technology plan paper written up!
THEN I AM DONE!!! OMGosh!!!! I will be so happy when I can join you guys again!

I was also going to say Mother's Day is right around the corner..and I have some beautiful gift baskets that I have created for some of my clients, if any of ya'll need GORGEOUS Mother's Day presents please let me know! I just got off the phone with my national and I am in the top three in our entire AREA AND I am way on course.....to get that TIARA!!!!! WOOHOO!!! I will send it around so we can all have our pictures taken in it!

Hey Kitty- I agree w/ya- It's always something w/little boys Landen hasn't put anything up his nose YET!! He was always putting things in his mouth! That has slowed down. It is day & night w/girls and boys!!

Good Morning Lovely Losers!!!

I did so good this weekend, eating wise! I tried to drink a glass of champagne and just couldn't do it! DH was getting me to drink and I was like, no way!!! I'm saving that treat for Mothers day. I got out my elliptical this morning and did about 30 minutes on it. It felt good! My eating was good too! I ate fish Sunday for a late lunch. I'm going to stick with fish all week long. I can tell the difference all ready in that because my stomach doesn't feel bloated or pooched out like when I eat red meat. So I'll see how this goes as far as losing.

Hi Mary, oh my gosh, speaking of lizards!! About 3 years ago, we had this huge lizard that would come in our back yard and this thing was like a pet size. I had never seen such a big lizard!! It was about a foot long!
Well one day it got in our house and I freaked out, in got in my pantry and I was so grossed out about I couldn't even go in my kitchen after that. Well eventually DH got it out and it took off. My niece finally killed it with her bb gun! I know that may sound cruel and they do have their purpose, but I couldn't stand knowing that it was in my house!

Hi TK, I'm sorry about the pretzels. Although my niece really wants to make them. I think I'll let her and she can taste them, then I'll let you know, since she's taking culinary classes, I figure she could give me a good review on them.
I have to tell you too, I made some steamed mussels yesterday. I got the box from Walmart Superstore. They are pre-cleaned already, but I didn't realize that they were already cooked, just needed to be heated up. They came in a vacumn-sealed bag and you just drop them in boiling water. They also had a recipe for a white wine sauce that you can pour them in. Well it was delicious!! I had to tweak the sauce because the white wine I used was one my brother brought over one day, and he doesn't know how to pick out wine! LOL!! But overall it was very good!!

I don't know if any likes mussels, beside Mary, but I love them, plus clams and oysters!! Oh Yum!!! Give me some of that a crusty bread and a cold beer or glass of griggio and I'm happy!!!

Hi Ing, don't worry about calories. Just make sure you eat until you're satisfied. You don't count cals on Atkins, just make sure you're eating what your supposed to. You'll see the lbs drop, oh and drink your water too. Not every one loses alot on induction though. We're all different. But just keep going and don't worry, the lbs will have to drop. Hang in there!!
Oh and I hope all is well with your eyes too!!!

Hi Theresa! Oh you're so sweet!!! I hope you win that tiara, you really deserve it!!! How awesome that you're almost done with everything! Wow, you are no quitter that's for sure!! I can't wait for you to be through with all that, then you can focus on yourself. But hey, once you start making the big bucks you can afford someone to cook for you!!!

Hi Brandi, oh Maui! Everytime you bring that up, I wish I was going. Oh and how are you flying there? Did you have to change your flights because of certain airlines going bankrupt? My sister, bil and kids were going to go this July for a family reunion on bil side of the family, but not sure if they are going. I loved it there. I can't wait to go back!!!

Hi Kathy, my parents, sister and niece all have labs too! My niece has a black lab, my mom has a yellow lab and my sister has both a yellow and brown lab.
My mom went outside yesterday to walk Tabasco and he was just like flinging her here and there! It was so funny to see him take my mom for a walk!!!
They are good dogs! My dad loves them!!

Hi Onefit! Yes I did have a cheat free weekend! First time in a long time!! I really am happy about that too!

TK, I had to laugh out loud at your question! It reminded of Pet Detective when Jim Carrey put those peas up his nose or what ever it was he put in them and blew them out!

Brandi, I haven't got them yet. I hope this week. From what I understand this is a slow process, not like the parasite cleansing where you may go all the time. The company is called Roex. You can look them up in there website. Just type that in.

Sorry I was awol this weekend. DH and I have been at it all weekend, and I haven't had time to get near the computer. He was drinking again, and he let it slip about 2 girls that are after him (and that I'm not in the running). He's been going out and not coming home when he says, turning his phone off, not being where he says he's going to be, etc. And I found out they've been calling him on his cell phone (I peeked). Great eh? After 20+ years with this man. So needless to say, things are not going well today. I can't even work today. I've been sitting here trying, but I just don't have it in me.

Thought I'd check in with the gals and see what's happening and let you know why I wasn't around.

Possibly the old mid-life thing... I don't know. He's been picking fights for a while and I felt there was something wrong. I just thought it was the stress from school. Now I find out there are other girls after him? WTH! Why would they think he was available? I just can't stand this.

now and days some women don't care if a guy is taken or not. Maybe he had been talking to them on a personal level opening up to someone else, who knows how it starts. I just hate that you have to go through this. I did say a prayer for you, maybe tonight talk w/him, maybe go to counsling? Are you close to any of his family?

First Kim. My heart hurts for you right now but I do know that whatever happens you will make it through this. I can tell you that alcohol changes the fabric of who a person is - this I know for sure - I know you've heard me mention that my DH goes to AA meetings every day, but he is not the first alcoholic I've dealt with in my life. Not to say your's is one, but just to reassure you that drinking regularly changes people. Try to keep that in mind when dealing with him. Even though you may not be in the same situation, I would suggest googling Al-Anon. It might help you keep your sanity. If you need a safe place to come to in order to vent, cry, complain or whatever, we are all here for you.

Well ladies, been out in the yard all day again ... man it is warm out there ... in the 80s already .... but gorgeous!! Well I ran to WalMart first thing this morning to pick up some things - seems like I live in that store... but I've since finished fertilizing my back yard and watering it in, and got all of my veggie plants in the ground. Now the battle of the bugs begins!! Heading to the front yard to fertilize my flower beds, just took a break to eat some lunch and pop in to say hello! See you all later.

Hello Everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful day! I have been crazy busy trying to wrap up school work...like I do anything different from day to day!

Diana...here is a photo of some of the Mother's Day Gift Baskets that I have put together so far for clients! I love doing this kind of stuff! I get to be creative with the baskets!!! Fun Fun!!


I know it is really hard to tell what all is in them...but they are packed! A couple of the guys have been like..."just put whatever in 'em"...gotta love men!
