Good Morning!
HB have you tried the mint chip clouds? I think I posted the link a few pages back. To die for!!! Yes, I too have portion control issues with those. I am sorry I have not been arouond much. I have been working 6 days a week. I do have to work this Mon and I guess HB and I posted at the same time so I did not see her post. Since Sun is my only day off, I really need to catch up on laundry and cleaning etc. As Angel, said, if you ladies want to get together this month we can always set up another meeting soon. I really want to spend time with you but I am in the beginning of a new job and it has been super crazy. Will try to stop by tonight or sometime tomorrow. Have a great weekend!

Hey Liz!! I will have to try the Mint Chip Clouds too - a girl's gotta have her vices! I must have a little guilt-free dessert. We usually have fruit w/ whipped cream after dinner, but since that's a no-no during Induction - Cream Cheese Clouds it is!! Next is Almond Roca and then Mint Chip!
![]() Hey btw - are you still thinking of going to Hawaii this Summer? Have you checked airfares yet? Cheap Flights, Airline Tickets, Cheap Airfare & Discount Travel Deals - Kayak.com is the BEST! Let me know and I will discount your stay at our condo for sure! That goes for all 3 of you! We are going over in June to turn our condo into a Tiki Hut! XO, HB

Let's Get Serious About Scheduling! :)
OK gals! The Meetings & Events Planner / Executive Assistant in me is coming out to play now!
Let's choose a date/time when we can ALL make it! ![]() 1st, is this correct? Angela: Santa Cruz Angel: San Jose Liz: Dublin HB: Martinez 2nd, please copy the text below and place in a New Post (not Quote) and add YOUR name by each lunch/dinner that you're available. The goal is to have all 4 of our names by at least one timeslot: April 21 - Lunch - HB, April 21 - Dinner - HB, April 22 - Lunch - HB, April 22 - Dinner - HB, April 23 - Lunch - HB, April 23 - Dinner - HB, April 24 - Dinner - HB, April 25 - NO April 25 - NO April 26 - Lunch - HB, April 27 - Lunch - HB, April 27 - Dinner - HB, April 28 - NO April 28 - HB can meet for dinner in SF or SSF but not San Jose on this day April 29 - Dinner - HB, April 30 - Dinner - HB, I HOPE WE CAN FIND A MUTUALLY AGREEABLE DATE!! ![]() Last edited by hummingbird11 : 04-18-2008 at 10:33 AM. |

Hi everybody - hope you're enjoying your Friday - it's almost the weekend!!
![]() Hummingbird - yes, the Kegels are half of what's involved in engaging the PF, you hold in the muscle that holds in gas in addition, thanks for posting the Wikipedia info - it's always good to know more about that ![]() As for lining up dates, it has mostly been on-line, that's the fastest way to do it, as for most effective? ![]() Are you starting Callanetics today? Angel - I bought the Sugar Cookie tea at Christmas time though I've heard of people finding it on clearance at some stores and on-line. Liz - Wow, 6 days/week?! I hope you get to rest soon ![]() As for my date last night - it was fun, he couldn't have been sweeter, kinder, and more thoughtful. He liked me a whole lot more than I liked him though and was very happy when I said I'd like to see him again. I'm going to go out with him on another date because my best friend says that her best relationships were when there was no initial attraction at 1st. If there is a strong initial attraction (like I had with Roger), that is someone I should avoid - it will not be a good relationship. We'll see, I missed Roger the whole night which really sucked but I guess it'll just take time....grrr ![]() Menu: b: Egg Cream l: Perfect Food Bar d: NY Strip, baked potato with butter, creamed spinach, 2 glasses of wine Exercise: Some walking around the city I'll fill out the timeslot thingee tomorrow! Thanks for doing that, Hummingbird. |

Oh I forgot to say that when I see you guys you can have my Sugar cookie tea....I didnt care for it.
Yes, HB I live in Dublin. I think I might be able to make the April 27 dinner. I am finishing my last week of training and then I go into my own store on Thur April 24. I have no idea what my schedule will be. I really need to figure that out before I committ. The store I will be managing is "troubled" so I have to sacrafice myself for about 4-6 weeks to get it right. I am really not like this....before I had loads of time on my hands...actually too much time on my hands. I use to work out of my home office most days of the week. But I took on a different type of positon and I knew this part would be a hard adjustment. Hope you all understand. HB, I love Kayak and I will check out the link soon. Thanks for offering the discount on the condo. You are so sweet! Off to work! Bye! |

Liz? What about you? Today's menu: B: egg cream L: bacon, avacado and cheese burger on LC bread D: greek yogurt w/ peanut butter Angela ~ For what it's worth, I didn't care much for DH when we first met. In fact, I was very unattracted to him. Our relationship grew the longer we knew each other, and I actually think it is better that way. Relationships eventually come to a point when the infatuation wears off and you have to figure out if there is anything else between you. When you have more than chemistry, there's a better basis for building a life together.Have a great weekend, ladies!

OK LIZ - YOUR TURN! :)
Please add your name to each timeslot that U R available:
April 22 - Dinner - HB, Angel, Angela April 23 - Dinner - HB, Angel, Angela April 24 - Dinner - HB, Angel, Angela April 29 - Dinner - HB, Angel, Angela April 30 - Dinner - HB, Angel, Angela Looks like neither Angel nor Angela are available for Lunch or Dinner on Liz's days off of Sunday & Monday, April 27 & 28? Is that correct? Angela ~ also for what it's worth (!) I concur w/ Angel ~ although I was mildly attracted to DH when we first met ~ (and getting us to meet in the first place is a whole 'nother story!) ~ I actually thought he was GAY!! hahaha!! We were "set-up" by two gay friends - his friend Karen dated my friend Susan ~ they both thought we were perfect for each other ~ we both thought they were out of their minds! I finally met him on May 15th, 1988 ~ (Karen & Susan tricked us!) ~ and although we hit it off conversationally and everything ~ I still couldn't tell if he was gay or straight (!) and there wasn't a deep "attraction" per se. It took a couple of weeks and then BAM! I fell deeply in love (& broke-up w/ my boyfriend) and have been in LOVE ever since! More and more each year, actually. And he is definitely a straight MAN! hahaha! A real cowboy; boy scout; coast guard; sexy gentleMAN ~ (I'd just never been exposed to such a nice guy before ~ I'd always dated "bad guys" before) ~ so yes, always good to have a couple of dates before moving on to the next toad/potential prince! ![]() Karen & Susan eventually broke-up ~ then it was Karen & Rhonda ~ then Karen & Lynn ~ now Karen & Peggy (10 years+) ~ but through it all D&D (us) have stayed strong and Karen is still one of our absolute BEST FRIENDS!! (and now we THANK her for her persistence in trying to get us together to meet!) In fact, I am right now helping Karen to get started on Atkins (+ she just ordered Beginning Callanetics!) ~ I told her that I'm an Apple ~ she replied that she's a Watermelon! She is hillarious. But miserably overweight. She lives in NC now, but would it be OK if I invited her to join us? Not sure if she will, tho. She's in South America right now on business travel for a MONTH! Her job keeps her waaaaay too busy - kinda like you, Liz! XO, HB Last edited by hummingbird11 : 04-19-2008 at 11:37 AM. |

Let me just start out by saying how grateful I am to have the 3 of you in my life...I just teared up again as I read your posts this morning...thank you Angel & Hummingbird, for taking the time to write about your experiences with your husbands...that makes me feel a lot better...I was really scared to go out there and approach this in such a different way...but I'm hearing other stories similar to yours as well...and you telling me yours...with your wonderful sounding husbands...is really helping me to see that that truly is the way to do this...and thank you all for putting up with my Roger/boy
toy rants over the last couple of months....it has been very helpful...it's just so wonderful to find such a wonderful group of kind, thoughtful women as y'all...I feel so lucky and I hope that I am/can be the same for you <<hug>>![]() Okay...now that the mushiness is over ![]() Oh, and Hummingbird, Karen sounds great, I'm sure we'd all love to have her join us here, sounds like she's off to a great start... Yesterday's menu: b: Egg Cream l: taco salad d: taco salad s: 3 Cuties, glass of wine, TBL almond butter No exercise, needed to meditate instead So looking forward to this cool-weathered weekend, am I the only one? Going to Dave & Buster's tonight with some friends, have never been, should be a lot of fun! Hope y'all have a good one! |

Hi Ladies!
Just a quick reminder to let you know that I have no idea what my days off are until I start in my store on Thur 4/24. I think it will be Sun and Mon because that is what most GM's in my company take off. I am rebuilding a very "troubled" store so I really have to sacrafice my time and social life for 4-6 weeks. Once I get into my store and settled at least for the first week (our weeks start on Wed) than I will have a clearer picture of how my schedule should look. I do apologize for not having this information as it sounds like everyone wants to get together this week. If you want to, feel free to go ahead without me or if you dont mind waiting a few weeks we could try to meet in May. I would love to have Karen join us in our thread. She sounds fabulous! We love to support new people here. ![]() I am actually not looking forward to the cool weather. I get cold really easily and love love love super hot weather....call me crazy...I know but I love it! I am getting ready to enjoy my one day off this week and catch up on laundry and cleaning and grocery shopping. HB have you started the Callanetics yet? Do you like it? It reminds me of TTapp a bit but not as complicated. I have those DVD's as well but just really cant get into my exercise routine right now. I know it would really help me but I am being stubborn. Anyone have any awsome recipes to share? My friend loaned me a book "the smart way to low carb" they have recipes that are a bit higher in carbs but not outrageous. I really think it is time to start upping my carbs and see what happens. I started that this week and am already liking the benefits! Happy Saturday and enjoy your weekend! I'm up for us meeting within the next week and then meeting again as soon as Liz can join us - either way sounds good to me - though we will miss you dearly Liz - can't wait until things settle down for you.
Menu: b: egg cream l: taco salad, multi-green kombucha d: we're going to Fresh Choice before we go to Dave & Buster's to play. I'm going to sneak in my leftover steak from Thursday and have that with a huge salad and then hopefully they'll have a somewhat low-carb soup, I love their soups. Exercise: Turbo Jam Fat Blaster - seemed just like regular Tae-Bo, didn't get what the big deal was and why this should be saved for a special occasion, though I do like the style of Turbo Jam more than Tae Bo - there's more dance and fun encouraged - though I do love Billy Blanks as well - he's so adorable. Callanetics too and a walk along the beach Forgot to include yesterday that I did do some exercise, I went for a 1 hour walk around Saratoga village - very peaceful. Off now to the spa, us girls are getting our make-up done before we go out, I love doing girlie things ![]() Last edited by skinhealth : 04-19-2008 at 06:22 PM. |

B: Oopsie waffles
L: bunless cheeseburger D: Tuna "rice" casserole (from Linda Sue's site) Angela, I'm so glad that our stories helped you. I think you might be surprised by what finds you if you open yourself to possibilities you wouldn't have considered before. If Liz absolutely can't make it, I'm willing to meet during this next week and then again next month. Shall we call it a plan, then? Have fun at D&B, Angela. We went there for DH's b-day in January. We had a great time. A spa day sounds great, too! HB, Sure Karen can join us. My only concern would be that she might feel left out by the plans that we make to meet, since she wouldn't be able to make it. |

Hello! Just a quick menu post
B: protein shake L: wings and salad D: turkey, salad and broccoli S: apple and cheese and almonds D: sugar free ice cream....I can tell this could be a problem ![]() I really want to have a meeting with you guys. I am sorry I cannot make it. I feel bad because I missed the last one and now this one. I really would have liked to meet you all tomorrow but decided it would be best to postpone since Angel couldnt make it. I will see you all soon though. Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. |

Wow Liz - congrats on the 4 lbs!! Woo-Hoo!! YAY!!
![]() Does your SF ice cream contain maltitol? If so, be careful: Maltitol - The Problems With Maltitol My two cents: since it's a LONG drive for me and since Liz will have a better grip on her schedule after 4/24 - I vote to postpone confirming till then. BUT did it seem like Dinner on Sunday 4/27 MIGHT work OK for all ? Re: Recipes - we made Buffalo Wings last night - YUM YUM YUM!!!!! chicken wings (fried in grapeseed oil) tossed with 1/4 cup melted butter + whole bottle (2 oz) of Tabasco baked them in the oven for 10 minutes - did I say YUM YUM YUM ?? + celery stalks w/ Trader Joe's organic blue cheese dressing and a low carb beer oh yes and the 3 minute chocolate "crack" cake (made w/ Wonder Cocoa & Vanilla Stevia) w/ fresh raspberries for dessert! (OMG THAT WAS GOOD) Ya know you're eating pretty good when when chocolate & raspberries are little cheats! Back on track today!! I am REAL GOOD Sunday to Thursday. Pretty good on Fridays (always cauliflower crust pizza) and a Bad Girl on Saturday nights! My DVD's came in Friday's mail (late afternoon) and we went on a HUGE HIKE yesterday so I am starting Callanetics TODAY! Right NOW, in fact! Thanks HB! I appreciate the malitol article. Yes, it has it in there and I was well aware of the running to the bathroom side effects but was craving ice cream so I took the risk. I had a cup of the ice cream last night then threw the whole thing away....ha ha ha!
Glad you enjoyed the "crack" cake it is soooo yummy! Hope you enjoyed your Callentics DVD today! Menu B: coffee L: protein shake w/pb D: spinach salad w/chicken S: strawberries, almonds, cheese |

That's funny, good for you, Liz! The running to the bathroom part does NOT scare me (in fact, I would welcome it!) it's the fact that although claims are often made that maltitol has little impact on blood sugar, this turns out not to be the case - so that can slow weight loss.
So it's better to make our own SF ice-cream w/ Splenda or Stevia. I got a Suzanne Somers mini ice-cream maker on eBay for $9.99 (haven’t used it yet tho) and then Angela has that easy ziplock baggie recipe! ![]() Yes, I am STILL constipated and having to use a laxative once per week (for 3 weeks now) just so I can GO and get something OUT of me!! ![]() I am eating plenty of Fat & Fiber (I think) ~ I'm even baking everything w/ Flax Seed and I take TJ's Colon Cleaner which includes Psyllium Husk. We eat a salad w/ dinner every night so plenty of "roughage" and we eat lots of veggies too. I am beginning to suspect it's the loss of fruit in my diet as I typically eat a lot of fruit. So may need to re-incorporate that soon as I do not wish to become laxative dependant (anymore than I already am!) I'm going to see about drinking some Bentonite Liquid (body cleanse) too. YES! I completed the 1 hour of 10/10 yesterday AND 20 minutes on the elliptical (I re-watched the 1st half of 10/10 while on the elliptical and will watch the 2nd half this morning as it was hard to see if I was doing things correctly or not) - The Beginning Callanetics was moving a little slow and I only had 90 minutes before a planned dog walk w/ a friend. I will check that one out again later this week. But I may just stick with 10/10 as I really liked it! I don't feel any soreness today so I'm going to do it again today (since I'm sure my "form" probably wasn't very accurate and so not very effective?) But I guess going forward, it's best to do it every other day? I think we should plan a pre-Dinner "Callanetics" work-out session for our get-together so Angela can coach us all a bit on our form! ![]() I was planning to start today w/ an Egg Cream for breakfast, but my tummy is feeling funky (from the laxative) + I forgot to brew & chill coffee last night so I will start tomorrow. Yesterday I had approx 25 Carbs: B: 2 fried eggs w/ bacon & 1 slice low carb toast L: 6 chicken wings S: 1 cocoa cream cheese cloud D: grilled ahi tuna & grilled asparagus spears & small lettuce & tomato salad S: 1.5 glass white wine & .5 glass red wine S: 3 cream cheese clouds (ALMOND ROCA FLAVOR - YUM!) Back to no wine Monday through Thursday. Shouldn't have had any last night, but my friend stayed for dinner, and well, you know how that goes! ![]() XO, HB Last edited by hummingbird11 : 04-21-2008 at 09:13 AM. |

What is Flat Out bread? And does "protein style" = no bun?
Hey Liz, today I noticed that our ThinkThin bars contain maltitol too. But it doesn't seem to be having any effect on me so I'm gonna keep on eating them! I now LOVE the peanut butter flavor (smooth AND chunky) that you reccomended - covered in chocolate - yum! Today: 19 Carbs B: ThinkThin bar L: 1 slice cauliflower crust pizza S: ThinkThin bar D: hot chicken wings & cole slaw S: 3 almond roca cream cheese clouds Tomorrow morning I'm making my first egg cream! And I've decided to add berries back into my diet so today I bought strawberries; blackberries; blueberries & raspberries - oh how I have missed my beautiful berry friends! ![]() FYI, today I had my 3rd Hypnotherapy appt - I really think this is helping me.
