Hello Newbie Here

Hello,

I have been lurking around here, and would like to introduce myself. My name is Mary and I am interested in commencing the Stillman's diet, to loose approx. 25-30 pounds.

From the posts I see here, it seems like a good plan and it works.

You all seem so nice around here, so I hope I can join you all.

Any support would be great, and good luck to everyone.

Hope to get to know you all soon.

Mary

Hi, Mary! Nice to "meet" you! I did Stillman's after I stopped doing Kimkins. I still follow the principles, for the most part, and am thinking about doing the QWL for a bit. Good luck to you.

Hi Mary!

I am pretty new to this site as well and I just wanted to say welcome. I just started the Stillman QWL and I have about 35-40lbs to lose. I'm hoping to do this by the middle of June as I have a beach vacation planned for then. I'll be happy with whatever I can do by then. I think it is vital to have a support system when losing weight, especially on a restrictive diet, and the people on this site are wonderfully supportive. You have come to the right place.

So good luck and I'm sure I'll be chatting with you soon!

I understand that you should elimate all veggies, if you would to loose the weight pretty quickly. Am I correct?

Its strictly fish, meat, eggs and farmers cheese and nothing else.

What does your menu consist of? Are you including veggies in?

Thanks.

Hi, Moretta,

Be careful with QWL Stillman's and Good Luck!

I stopped doing it because I was worried about my kidney's.

Thanks for the heads up.

If you don't mind, can you tell me what happens.

Did you loose when you did the Stillmans QWL?

Any info., would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

As I mentioned on another thread, doing QWL Stillmans caused my body and mind to be under tremendous stress and recently felt "low" and triggered massive binges and unfortunately, purging. (Not tossing cookies, the other way.) My doctor was worried. My trainer was worried. My DB was very concerned and wanted me to stop abusing myself.

I decided to go back onto my trainer supervised plan and join a support group in my area for eating disorders.

Mary,

I am eliminating all veggies with the exception of one night a week (saturday night) in which I will do a refeed meal including raw veggies and maybe some fruit. It is my understanding that you can lose a lot of weight quickly doing this but it is hard on your kidneys. I am taking a vitamin and mineral supplement to offset potential strain. A typical day's meal looks like this but keep in mind I JUST started so I haven't weighed yet

brkfst: one egg and one slice lf turkey bacon
snack: choc protein shake
lunch: tuna salad with one egg
snack: choc protein shake
dinner: grilled chiken with low carb low fat bbq sauce

I did this for two days a while back (before the holidays claimed me) and lost 6 pounds. This time I have more incentive and drive and I know I will succeed.

We can and will do this!

Can I ask you, do you know why not eating mixed green veggies would stop weight loss?

I don't know that eating mixed greens will STOP weight loss but supposedly it will slow it down somewhat. I know that if you eat the greens raw it is better for weight loss but I'm not exactly sure why. I think it is because it takes so much energy for your body to process protein that you burn a good deal of calories just digesting it and when you eat vegetables, they help your body digest the protein better therefore expending less calories in the process.

I don't think eating greens is bad, it's just that for my own initial weight loss I want it to be as fast as possible. I will definitely be adding greens back after about a month just for health and diversity of food choices.

Hope that helps.

Ohhhh, I get it. I just eat some spinach salad plain or celery. I dunno if I should try to cut them out . I too would like the quickest weight loss before a vacation in may...hmmm...
Thanks!
