I just saw the informercial today so I'm deciding if I want to spend the money on the DVDs. I tend to buy these exercise DVDs and not use them very often and they collect dust.

New fan of Turbo Jam
Hi all,
I did the 20 min. Turbo Jam workout this morning. I'm pretty new to it but am catching on to the various "moves" and can actually now keep up with this 20 min. workout. I like it a lot, the music is great, and it helps that Chalene (the gal teaching the class) is not "too" perky or annoying! I did try the "cardio party" one the other day and it was too much (too fast, mostly) and I felt like I could not have been more uncoordinated! But I'll give it time and hope that I do catch on. From what others have written about Turbo Jam on these boards, it just takes time and repetition. I'm using the DVDs along with either treadmill walking/running or outdoor walking/running. (And lifting weights 3-4 days per week also.) The Turbo Jam will come in handy on those bad-weather days, to be sure. My goal is to tighten up and be in better shape cardiovascularly. I don't know how realistic it is for me to lose more "pounds" now but I hope to lose some more inches. Last fall I found out that I have a rare cancer called "Carcinoid" - I have Carcinoid Syndrome in particular - so I drastically changed my diet about 8 months ago and that resulted in some weight loss. (Funny how a diagnosis of the "Big C" will make you serious about changing the way you eat!) Working out is advised and in fact the better shape my heart is in, the better things will be for me overall - but I'm not supposed to exert "too much" effort when exercising, as that can make the Carcinoid Syndrome worse. I guess it's a fine line to walk but I just pay close attention to how I feel during the workout, check my blood sugars or blood pressure as needed - and take it day to day! Take care,

I have been doing turbo jam for about a month now. I try to do them 5 days a week. I just ordered callanetics and want to rotate between the two. Chalene is one of the only instructors that hasen't gotten on my nerves, so I agree that she is just the right level of happiness, not a phony
When you are putting up your measurements is it just chest and hips or arms too? Good luck everyone! |

You and I are both at the same weight pretty much. My short term goal is 175, but I want to eventually get to 150 or so. I currently do Turbo Jam 5-6 days a week, and I also jog. I'd be up for a TJ challenge type thing. I started doing TJ back in the summer for about a month or two, then I started up school and simply didn't have the energy to do any exercise. I started doing TJ again about a month ago or so. Weight has definitely been coming off and I've gotten more toned. I mostly do Cardio Party Mix 2 and the 20 minute workout. I also do Fat Blaster once a week to boost my weight loss.
I will always be loyal to TJ, cause it's the one work out where I can consistently do. Other workouts I could do for maybe 2 weeks and then I just get bored of it. I have yet to find another workout regimen to where I actually look forward to working out. I feel so great after working up a sweat when doing Turbo Jam.

I did Learn one more time and did Burn!! I was by no means brilliant, but I got through the whole work out, and I'm sure my coordination and...sucking at moves will improve as I do it more often. The fifteen minutes went so quickly! It was very very fun...I think this is a workout I can stick to!

I need to get on Ebay or Amazon to buy the videos. I will use them once it gets too hot to workout outside. I go to the gym but June 2-July 4, my hubby will be gone until 9:30-10pm M-Th and I will need to come straight home from work to take care of the Puggies. So having a nice workout DVD will be motivating! I have a few but all they do is collect dust...

HI all,
I did the 20 min Turbo Jam workout this morning. I thought I could handle wearing the weighted gloves (that came with the Turbo Jam package), since I've done this workout about 7 times and am catching on to the moves (finally!) I put the gloves on and first thought, "Hey, these aren't so heavy!" Well let me tell you - about 10 minutes into the workout I had to take them off. YES they make a big difference! At least at my current level of ability. I felt it much more in my arms and was really sweating. I wasn't in the mood to exercise today but I'm glad I did and that it's over! Have a great weekend- |

I couldn't imagine doing them in some of the workouts though. I see people using them in Fat Blaster and that workout kicks your butt as is it, cause it's 4 turbos done 2 times each (high and low intensity). |

They are 1 lb each. Honestly when I put them on I really thought it would be nothing to get through the 20 min. workout with them on. WRONG! I could really feel it. I'll have to work up to wearing them for the whole time... never mind attempting that cardio party 40 min. workout with them! (Especially since I can't yet do the 40 min. workout without tripping all over myself.)
Take care, Michelle |

I went to Amazon to see how much they would be on there, instead of buying them through Beachbody and people are saying that the gloves aren't truly 1 pound. Some people weighed them and they were like 12 ounces for one glove and 10 ounces for another glove. I guess the old gloves weighed 1 pound. And they were saying they are cheaply made and leak sand.
I think I might try and get a hold of some gloves from Target or something. |

Hi Lataisha - I wanna join! We have the same stats, love TJ and live practically in the same town. I am in Aberdeen, NJ - how funny. I actually came here looking for a TJ goal thread. So I just had a baby on March 28th - put on a whole 65 lbs this pregnancy putting me now at 195. I want to hit 170 by July too. I am on day 3 of induction.
today - Cardio Party Remix 3 (30 min) It kind of kicked my behind! I haven't worked out hard in QUITE a while though. LET'S GO!!! |

I have CP Mix 3 and I haven't quite mustered up any courage to do it yet. It looks a little difficult for me. I don't know if I'm quite that coordinated to do it just yet, haha. So I stick to my Mix 2 for now.

![]() Oh and I decided to get some 1lb gloves too. The best deal I found online was Bally's at Kmart.com ($11 something+shipping). The TJ ones seem too expensive to me. |

I prefer Mix 2 out of all of the CP's. I don't know why, but I really don't like Mix 1 at all. I definitely think Mix 2 has some good leg work. Especially the front kick and back kicks in the 2nd segment.
I definitely love Fat Blaster, too. But man.. does it kick your butt, haha. I usually only do that about once a week when I want to drop a couple pounds. |
