Good morning ereryone!!!

So my total for the first week was 10 pounds. Yesterday was the first day of week 2 and this time I am going to TRY to not weigh in everyday...wish me luck on that! I am hoping to lose 5 pounds this week.

I haven't really had any problems with sticking to it and been drinking a minimum of 100 oz of water a day.

Kathy.... that was really cute about your dog... we have a little shih-tzu... too small to reach the counter or she would do the same thing!!!

Magickal... I always thought that the darker the sticks the more fat you are burning.. I have used them for years ...

Lora... good luck at the doctor today!!!

Diana...I bought a snow cone maker(ice shaver) for $16 at Target, all I do is shave the ice into a large bowl, throw some heavy cream on the ice and add the davinici syrup "flavor of the day" lol and mix......its really nice when its hot outside, when all the neighborhood kids come over I skip the cream in theirs, and they love the choice of flavors

Gotta run my brother to the doctor today....my first day off since last Tuesday....Im also hitting SUper Walmart near the doctors office ...I need YOGURT to make some yocheese....

I dont feel like eating anything today!!!

Good morning girls and slatman, im at the darkest purple on the ketos stix so i have to be burning fat. I had no loss today tho I cant help but to weigh everyday , but im gonna stick with mondays as my official weight loss day. Im gonna up my water to get the fat moving !!! another day to get er done !!!!!

No, I can't say that I felt like a hang over. I feel weird anyway because I'm going through the pre-change, seeing how I'm now a maturing woman!
I'm actually doing pretty well thanks! I don't have a problem with Stillmans, only when I cycle back to Atkins because I feel like I can eat anything.

Diana im in deep ketosis and the energy I have from it is amazing i been on the scale all morning and it was showin im down a pound didnt want to claim it but it hasnt changed so im taking it as a solid loss - Something I had to learn about wat pounds really are is i weigh something that is a pound like meat and i feel it to really now thats is wat i loss cuz when I think of just a pound it dont sound like much but when u actually feel it in ur hands and can visually see it , It makes such a difference in how u feel about that loss every time I lose 10 pounds i go to the store and pick up a 10 pound bag of potatoes and i swear that makes me feel so good - puts things in a better lite for me ....Just thinking out loud all thought id share

Oh yeah exactly! When we see what we've lost and compare that to like you said a 10lb bag of potatoes, or a 5lb bag of sugar, it really sets in on what we lost! And like you said a lb of meat! Carry all that around and you'll feel what we've lost! I do that too! It makes us so much more motivated to continue on!! I love it!!

Day 8 Slatman?

Cskies~yes no scale till friday. Had DH hide it and I am going crazy.

Went to the gym did an all body work out and 4 miles on treadmill.

Had to drive 45mins yesterday to bring DH a book for school. I prayed for 5min. that I could find his car. There was over 1200 cars. Girls, I drove right up to his!!

The power of the Lord just amazes me. I told Dh and he said yea what ever.

Since we have been here in El Paso I have prayed about several different things and WOW the Lord has came tru 98% of the time. The other 2% was on me. I failed.

Okay sorry if I bothered anyone but I thought it was AWESOME!!

Wow you guys are doing great... Your making my tummy growl talking about the rolls and the icees. I love Sonic's grape slushes. OMG!!! When I get a migraine, I always ask my Dad to go get me one. That is one of the good things about living in the same subdivision. HA HA

cskies - Mom and Dad are leaving Florida today. Sad that they are coming home to cold weather. It is suppose to be in the 40's and 50's for highs by the end of the weekend. I hope the weather man is wrong on this one. HA HA he usually is...

So, I'm at 155 again today. I will take it. I hope these scales are right. Man, I can't believe they took my scales. I guess they think I let them rule my life. Ok, I do.

Sorry, missed your question earlier trying to read through all the posts....

Refeeds: When on a program like stillman's qwl you are basically fasting and putting lot's of stress on your body. Your body will react to the calorie deficit and stress by lowering metabolism and trying to store anything it can. the body prefers to have a surplus of intake so it can store up for lean times. It's also tougher on your body burning fat for fuel and you know the bowels get backed up this is all stressfull on the bod..


A refeed will let the bod know it's not a famine.. everything is ok ..
A refeed can be one meal a week.. one day a week.. one week a month.. the important thing is not to go crazy on refeeds.. stick to veggies..fruit..whole grains etc.. my weekends are more of a load and reload my goal is to get glycogen back into the muscles asap so I can punish the bod again the next day.. on shorter exercise days during the week I stick to the 14 day plan or qwl.

If you do not do refeeds that is fine.. keep the FAT higher than you normally would.. a surplus of fat intake daily will have nearly same effect as the refeeds. If you have trouble going back to qwl you should try this..

If you feel really weak in the morning, start getting depressed, you've pushed it too hard for too long...

Many think the 10 days on and 2 days of regular atkins works well.. this seems very possible due to it taking a few days to get into ketosis and you want to be in ketosis for a few days and then you need a break.. Exercise can get you there quicker ...


Different people can stay on qwl for different periods of time.. I have found people with a plan are more successfull than those that just try to do it as long as possible. If you know a refeed is coming up soon it's easier to stay on plan. This plan is boring and tough and you have to be strong mentally to stay on plan. Weekends of course are especially tough so Saturdays seem to be a perfect refeed day or meal day.

Hope everyone's day is going well...I have stayed on plan with my food.

and magickal...the fish was GOOD!! so glad I tried it!! I just used salt and pepper for seasoning...I have never understood why people like lemon on their fish....I like lemon cream pie and lemon cake and lemonade but I don't like lemon in much else!!

I will definitely be adding the talipi to my stillmans menu!!

now if someone would come make me some oopsie rolls I think it would make my day complete...

wait...no ...getting my 3 miles in on the treadmill for tonight would make my day complete!!

hello everyone!!

I agree with Slatman, so many posts, hard to respond (personally) to each one...but this is good!! The support and encouragement is amazing. I'm so glad I discovered this forum.

Congrats to everyone losing!! And to those not but still staying on plan..stay encouraged...the weight will come off!!

Cskies..your commitment to exercising on the treadmill inspired me to began to use mine again. I was doing Jillian Micheals '30 day shred' and needed to switch things up a bit to get more cardio in.
Slatman..I can only dream to do as well as you Your commitment to biking is amazing!! Thanks for the information regarding refeeds...it really helped me to understand better how to make Stillman's work successfully!!

Weight, ahh, the beloved scale is toying with me..so I'd rather not post until my weight goes beyond the same 2-3lbs

I am thinking of changing my goal weight to 135...that has been a number in my head for years...but I never thought I could get close to that and now that I am ...I am going for it!!

Slatman ty so much I think i got it so basically on my refeed day i can make it one meal every week like sundays and say i just add green veggies and cantaloup would that be ok as a refeed? love cantaloup and would love to be able to incorperate it some how but i dont want to go off plan to much.

Hi Everybody!

I'm hoping for a loss soon! I think TOM is lurking, I should say faux TOM anymore! I have the emotional part, but no evidence of it. I feel slightly bloated even though I'm doing what I'm supposed to do. I did add a little salad with dinner tonight.
Better than eating illegally.

I hope I get a whoosh!! I hope we all get one!!!
