Hello. Looks like yesterday was a good day for everyone. I hope you're all taking pics to remind yourself how far you've come. Mine have helped me when I felt like quitting lately; I don't want to go back to the way I was and I do want to see progress again. Thank God I finally am getting it together enough to go on.

Miss Minda, congratulations on a job well done! That was a great loss, don't you love it???

Stacie, feels so good to get those comments doesn't it? You've earned them!

Welcome LaRae!

I can post 4 pounds gone since 3/25. So let's keep up the encouragement and lots of posting to this thread. It has helped me tremendously this past week and now that I've made a new start I don't want to get sidetracked again. I appreciate having you guys to chat with.

Thanks for the welcome!

I don't know as I feel worthy to be on this thread. All of you have done incredibly well! Just awesome weight loss!

I want to be accountable when I post on this thread/challenge. I did very well yesterday until the evening (my worst time of the day). DH and I had some l/c ice cream left, and we ate it. I can't eat ice cream without some nuts in it, so I added that, too! Now it is gone, and DH and I have agreed to not buy anymore. I am also not going to keep anymore nuts on hand. I always kept some in case we were out somewhere that we couldn't get anything low/carb so we would take it with us in the car, etc. No more; I just can't control my portion of nuts. Love'em too much!

I am still resolved to do better, and I am going to the grocery store later to get stocked up on more low carb food. I don't even keep anything high carb in the house, but I sure can overeat the low carb foods! That is my problem - portion control and then too many calories.

I appreciate being on this thread; it will really help!

LaRae

hey ev1...long time no post.

I've been really sick, and having a hard time with what should have been resolved with surgery back in February. It's pretty much all I can do to get through the day and back in to bed at night.

I haven't been to the gym in 3 weeks, and haven't been eating enough (hardly anything) or drinking any water because it's so hard to keep anything down. oddly enough...I'm not losing. *sigh*

I wanted to check in and say I miss you all and am so, SO incredibly proud of all the hard work! Please, if you have any to spare, I need all the good, healing thoughts you can send.

anyway...I'm still on plan...and hope to have enough energy to post every day again!

Well, I was supposed to be staying off the scale for another challenge and I just cannot do it. ----but you know what, I am glad I weighed this morning. Down 3 more lbs to 256! That puts me at 50 lbs lost January 3 to April 2 of 2008. OMG! I cannot believe it!!!

I go in the morning to see my Doc and have more lab work done. It has been since 298 lbs in mid January since I saw her ---- and I am looking forward to her reaction. Even my own Mother is amazed -- she told me today, that she has never been prouder of my commitment and success. (kleenex moment). I am halfway to my goal of 100 lbs by November 2008, and am not even believing it yet. Will be seeing my sister (who I have not seen since the end of January) on April 13th. Cannot wait to see what she has to say.

My three year old run his truck across my stomach today and said 'What happened Mommy' -- I asked what he meant and he said 'the mountain is gone' --- Another kleenex moment!!! I so want to set a healthy example and lifestyle for him. Also, want to be around to hold my grandchildren one day. Want to fit on the rides at Disney World.... oh, the list goes on....... and when I get to feeling down, I just pull it out or a photo of my son's adorable face and the purpose in my mission is clear once again.

Hang in there Everyone! We have come such a long way already!

Welcome LaRae. Welcome back Elizabeth -- hope you are feeling better soon! Thanks Heather and Magickal. Thanks Everyone!! I am so on cloud nine today. Gonna update my signature and change my little avatar now. Wahoo!!!

GOOD NEWS!!! I picked up my bridesmaid dress and tried it on... and it FITS!!! It's still a BIT snug in some bulkier areas, but I would be OK if I HAD to wear it tomorrow. And, since I still have six weeks until the wedding, I have time to "slim down" into it a bit more! I actually had my hubby take a couple pictures, which I'll try to post tomorrow... that way I can have a before/after for the next 6 weeks!

Heather- That's awesome about the dress. I just got measured for my bridesmaids dress so now I know my measurements. The lady who measured asked what size pants I was wearing and I told her 22w she told me that the dresses ran about 2 sizes smaller so I would probably need a 24w or 26w. She measured me and I ended up needing a 20w! Everyone was worried that if i lose more weight it will be too big by August. I told them that if it's really that big on me in august, then I will be doing great and I'll rush order another dress lol.

I used to be a slave to the scale but I'm actually starting to mellow out about it. I still weigh every morning but I'm not as frustrated or as dissapointed when it doesn't move. Lately it hasn't moved much at all but I'm not getting discouraged I just know I got to keep at it and it will happen eventually. Plus, I think all of the compliments I got really made me realize that it really is making a difference and i will lose the weight if i just give it time.

Everyone is doing so well!

You should be VERY proud of yourself, Fancy! That is really an awesome achievement! Puts me to shame!

Heather, Stacie and Magickal1, all of you are inspiring me!

LCinHouston: so sorry that you are so sick. I hope that you are feeling better by now.

I had a strange eating day yesterday as I had to be gone most of the day as it turned out. I had 6 little sausage links in the morning with coffee, then I overate on some unsalted brazil nuts because I got too hungry! So for dinner, which was later than I would have liked, I had three little pieces of rotissierie chicken and about three slices of cheese. Not too bad carb-wise, within my 20 carb limit, I believe.

I am not going to report a loss until I get back to my signature weight which is 240. This morning I was at 244.5, so, hopefully, I will be back at 240 soon so I can keep going down! I'm doin' it this time!!

I hope that I haven't put all of you back to sleep!

Thanks for letting me ramble on and on!

Magickal1, you shouldn't be depressed! You have lost just under 100 lbs! Do you know how awesome and incredible that is! YOU did it! The scale will move again; it's just contrary! You know that you are losing, and your body is adjusting. You are losing so fast, you aren't giving it time to catch up!

Hi! Down another pound today. Now, if it just doesn't start bouncing back and forth, lol!

Larae, you are worthy, and just checking in everday and saying "hello" will help you keep sticking to your plan. We're all just like you, we struggle each day to get another pound off and keep it gone. We can encourage each other.

Elizabeth, I really hope you're feeling 100% soon. So sorry it's rough for you right now.

Fancyface, 50 lbs. lost...you've reached a MAJOR milestone!! That's wonderful and I'm so happy for you! I thought your "kleenex moments" were so touching. Be sure to let us know your doctor's reaction today.

Congratulations, Heather! Can't wait to see your pics in the dress.

Stacie, bet you loved hearing about the smaller size dress, wouldn't it be too awesome if you need to special order a new one???? At the rate you're going, I bet you will.

Magickal1 I know how that scale is making you feel right now. I swear mine is just evil to me at times, lol. 2 more pounds and you can shout out for a 100 lb. loss. I cannot wait to say that! You are doing an amazing job.

Roxanne, I'm glad you decided to post and let us know you're here. You've made a wonderful start with 19 lbs. gone, and I hope you'll stick around and chat with us!

Well, lunch break is over so back to the real world. Have a great rest of the day, all!

Snack: 4-5 slices cheddar cheese

Thanks, everyone, for your kind words about fitting into my dress! Stacie, WAY TO GO on the size 20!!! You are doing so well!!! I'll try to get those pictures off of my camera soon... they're not amazing by any means, but I hope they'll be much closer to amazing in 6 more weeks!

Today's Menu:
B- leftover pulled pork and cabbage (5)
L- grilled chicken, brie (3)
S- sf jello w/cream (2)
D- steak and broccoli/cauliflower mix (8)
TOTAL=18 carbs/8 glasses of water
(walking a few miles at gym later)

Oh, also, talk about TEMPTATION! DH and I are in charge of purchasing all of the desserts for an event at our church on Saturday... so right now our kitchen table is piled high with cakes, cookies and muffins! ARGH!!! I KNOW they're not worth it, but that frosting is calling my name. I think I'll allow myself ONE bight of frosting on Saturday night just so I can stop obsessing over it!

Congrats to all you losers!!! Wonderful job everyone!!!!

We all want the scale to move NOW! But we also want those pounds to stay off right? Anyone can cut cals/carbs/fats down & have the scale move every single day, but what happens when we can't stay at such low levels any longer? Yep, the scale goes up, up, up. Take it from someone who lost 150 lbs & gained 200 that way - be patient, work your plan, exercise, drink your water & it will happen!

LaRae - Of course you're worthy! wE'RE ALL HETE TO SUPPORT EACH OTHER THROUGH THE GOOD TIMES & BAD (oops)

Wonderful attitude! It's not all about the scale!

Heather - Can't wait to see pics of you in the dress.
Just remember that none of those goodies are going to taste as good as you think they will.

Elizabeth - Sorry you're not feeling well. Lots of good thougts & going your way. You've been missed

Ok, so here they are... like I said, nothing too amazing (I'm just glad it fits)... but I'm hoping to see a big difference when I wear this for the wedding in 6 weeks.

And ugh... I need to take some time away from walking to work on my upper arms!!!

Jennifer, your stats are awesome, also! That always amazes me to see that someone has lost so much weight!

I've done well today and hope for a good number on the scale in the morning!

This is what I have had so far:

2 Oopsie rolls w/cream cheese
Coffee and water

I'll check in with all of you later!

Hi Everyone!

Stacie, congrats on the size 20! Heather your dress is such a pretty color! You look great and I know in six weeks you are gonna look so good.

All of you guys are so great. This thread and all of your comments helps to keep me on track and I look forward every day to reading how everyone is doing.

My Doctor appointment went well. She was beaming at the weight loss. BP was a low normal now --- did the labwork too, and should know those results in a few days. Dr. said she would probably see me in six months and just tell me the lab results over the phone --- cause she feels sure they are wonderful! I told her if I don't see her for six months, that I am coming back in ONEderland. She laughed and said she did not doubt it. I told her my biggest problem now is trying to not lose my pants. We talked about consignment shopping, summer activities, and it was a wonderful improvement from my January appointment.

Heather- That's a very pretty and you look great! I can't wait to see your progress!

I literally lost my pants on the Cardinals home opener the other day. I decided to wear a pair of capri's from last year. The game was rained out and we drove to a restaraunt and I went to get out of the SUV, which has a prety big step down to the ground, and it was raining, and my pants dropped clear around my ankles. lol Everyone I was with almost died laughing. Oh well! lol..I'm just really excited about actually notcing and seeing progress in myself. That is just so encouraging and satisfying to me.
