I did read that one before deciding to do Atkins. Do you think that the 14 day would be more beneficial than Atkins?

Hello all.

Had a wonderful coffee yesterday. I did eat 1/2 a toast with butter and a few bites of spanish eggs. I just moved the hash browns around on my plate if I took a bite I would have eaten it all!!!

Went to the gym today and really wanted to leave. Just going to do a mile and call it a day. I ended up doing 4 miles and awesome leg work.

I was down 1.5 pounds today.

Really late with the "wrinkle" TOM. Guess it is either the LC and this WOE or Menopause.
Just has not been right lately. I wil be 44 this year.

Never drank diet soda and quit the regular stuff years ago.

Everyone have a great day!!

B-hb egg with mustard and benefiber
L-turkey bacon Hb egg
d- Turkey breast

Probably not.. maybe easier to switch back and forth from 14 day to qwl (heavy protein programs)

Guess it depends on what you think your missing... I miss salads/veggies... the 14 day helps with that...

Oh I know what it was now, Slatman. I was missing the fat from my foods and I eat more than 2 eggs during the day.
That's why I'm doing Atkins.

That's a good idea. You still put the co in your mouth and let it melt? I need to do that too.

If I skip the veggies at dinner time and eat only meat, will that be considered strict Stillman's?

Thank you!

I will change my snack to cottage cheese and eat only the turkey burgers tonight!

However, I know I need more protein and I will continue to drink the whey protein.

Hello everybody!! I'm cycled to Atkins right now but like Diana, I also like to check in on occasion and keep up with everyone in the meantime. Once I get through with all the "heavy lifting" of spring garden prep and planting, I'll be flipping over to Stillman's again. Got a load of bulbs in today to get in the ground. When I get ready to switch again I think I also need to have a look see at those other Stillman plans.

Slatman, no doubt that sodas are just not nutritionally sound for sure! But, like my coffee... I love having them! Maybe one day I'll give 'em up, but for now I'll stick with my Diet Rites. I like Diet Rites most because they have no sodium, no caffeine and they use Splenda rather than aspartame. I have to admit I'm always leary of the artifical sweetener warnings, I guess I'm a skeptic, but then I try not to use them or anything else in excess anyway! Since I've been using some form of sugar replacement for most all my adult life, and I've made it to 50 with no major health problems, I guess it'll be okay!

Slatman, how's your dad?

Everyone else... best of luck and wishes for whooshes!!!!

Antigone... if you are still having problems with bowel movements, you may want to add some magnesium to your diet.

I added a calcium/magnesium combo at night with my dinner, mostly because I had read that it was supposed to help with sleep, and boy does it! But one additional benefit of that combo is that it helps to move things along in the colon. So, you might want to give it a shot.

I think I read that you were trying some kind of fiber, but my experience with that is you better make sure to get LOADS of water or the fiber tends to slug up everything otherwise!! Sort of defeats the purpose. I have also been taking the flavored sugar free Metamucil one to three times a day to get in some fiber. Metamucil is really just nicely flavored psyllium, but I usually get tons of water in every day too. I've just always been a big water drinker since I stay constantly dehydrated (whole 'nother story). But, some days I forget the Metamucil ... however... the calcium/mag supplement together with my morning coffee, seems to keep things moving along fine!!

Hope this is of some help for ya!

Mary, just giving them up for April... need to limit them after that... splenda is a much better option going to stick with it and cut out all the other artificial sweeteners...

much of the "scare" is crap but I really think anything you don't shoot, pick, or dig up can cause problems down the road and needs to be kept to a minimum... somehow my one soda a day turns into six a few months later

visited dad last night.. the pain has subsided some and he's keeping us entertained with his hallucinations .. maybe coming home thursday or friday

Day 3 for me... down 5 pounds total...yeah I know it's the water weight at first but hey, I'll take it .
I am drinking a minimum of 1/2 gallon of water a day and I have limited myself to one diet pepsi a day but I cannot/will not drink it until I have had at least the 1/2 gal. of water first... so hopefully that will help. I have been eating chicken pretty much for all meals so far... I will mix it up later but I accidently defrosted more chicken then I planned and I don't want it to go to waste. I am going to make a few hard boiled eggs today...maybe.

What is really weird to me is that I have yet to feel "crappy"... no headache, no fatigue, no withdraw feelings...I am not really complaining but I just find it odd. I actually made sure I had nothing going on for these first few days fully expecting the normal yucky feelings in the beginning. I would think I am in Ketosis by now...probably going to buy the sticks today to check. Has anyone else NOT had the "yuckies" before.

Anyway... good luck to everyone... keep up the good work ...and slatman I hope your dad is doing better

magickal1.. a couple people in my family have problems with sweeteners except splenda.. I think there is a diet coke out there with splenda and diet rite... I think like kss does above getting the water in first should be a priority

the food prices are crazy I stock up on any kind of meat that goes on sale less than 2 bucks a pound.. I've got the wife and kids kind of on my program so with teenagers it's amazing how much meat you can go through...

Yes, actually, the very same thing happened to me the week I started Stillman's. It was very unusual and also one week before my period. Weird.

Yeah KSS!! That's great, good job on the 5lbs! That is a good idea to drink the water first then your soda, almost like a reward for you.

I like the diet rite soda, preferably in the white grape flavor. I drink one and the rest is water, oh and I have my after dinner coffee drink. I'ts a must!!!

I don't think I ever had that "foggy" thingy feeling either when I did Stillmans. Maybe because I'm naturally like that!

I work for my dad and he comes in the office and I'm not always miss smiles at work because of all the "stuff" that happens. He asked me about some job and I answer him in a get to the point answer. So then he asks me what's wrong! Blah, blah, blah! Finally he say's how how he created a monster in me because the way I act. And I said well, you created me, doesn't that tell you something!

So when I say foggy, I guess that's how I go about all the time! Only a work though, not when I'm away from it. It's hard to work for family!

What Fun!!!

I'm not going anywhere Magickal1!!!
