Amm - I just printed up a bunch of stuff on SB and that is what I'm going to try. Did you foolow it exactly (2 weeks of Phase 1 than Phase 2) or did you lengthen phase 1? SB sounds perfect for me. Especially adding in fruits in Phase 2. Thanks so much for the suggestion and keep up the great work. Your weight Loss is AMAZING!!

Nik - Good Luck!

Amber - Good Luck with the OPKs I could never decide if the line was dark enough so I only used them for one cycle. Too much hassle for me. LOL

Kat - Enjoy your move. I can't wait to move to Germany this summer! Then you all can hear about my move LOL

Mel - Love your new haircut! looks like we may have similar hair. Mine is not quite 'cute curls' but definitly more than 'wavy' LOL what type of styling products do you use? I just got mine trimmed and it's pretty close in length to yours. I love how it seems to get curlier when it's shorter.

Katy - Tucker is adorable! I can't get over it LOL I wish I had your motivation for school.

Christina, I guess I actually did Phase 1 for a month... I didn't add in any fruit until after a month. But I did eat some lowcarb whole wheat tortillas now and then during that month. But never sugar. And no sugar now either unless I'm allowing myself an extremely rare treat.

So, Amm, is sugar the real killer on SouthBeach? Too often, I allow bits of it to creep into my diet. I wonder what it would look like if I went to absolutely ZERO sugar? It would be interesting, for sure!

Potaty: GORGEOUS! I absolutely love the pics and want to see more and more and more of them. I love the pic of the hand. With this baby (who should be being conceived right now, we hope), I plan to take TONS of body parts pics and extreme close ups.

I used to think I would go to school forever, but I became a teacher and now hate school. I hated my master's classes and am dreading going back. I hope to feel a burst of inspiration before it's time for me to renew my license again. What's your bachelor's degree?

Mel: I really love the hair. Your short is my long, but yours looks SO much healthier than mine! I never in a million years thought that my hair would become the stringy, brittle mess that it is. Long whining short, I hope you appreciate that gorgeous head of hair you have. We should take none of our blessings for granted. (I'm not trying to sound preachy, just complimentary. I'm bad at it.) It really lightens up your face and makes you look more awake. Not tired at all!

The scale went down a bit today, and my temp's been up for two days now! EXCITING!

Nikie, it's my belief that sugar is the killer on any diet. I really think that sugar got me as fat as I once was. On South Beach, sweets aren't allowed, even in Phase 2. I don't follow South Beach word for word, so I'm really not an expert, but I know that sugar messes me up.

I'm a teacher, too. I love it. I am actually in the process of trying to go to grad school. I take the GRE on Monday. Yikes!

My hair used to be so much thicker than it is now. What I have is healthy, but it has thinned out since I started losing weight. About 40-50 pounds into my loss, it was coming out at an alarming rate. I take Biotin every morning and it isn't so bad now. There's a lot of new growth at the crown of my head. I have baby hairs that stick up... but at least it's coming back!

Good morning girls. Just a quick post for me.

Potaty - please post all the pics you want - he's sooooooooo cute!!

Mel - LOVE the hair! We have very similar hair, except mine is still long. I'm thinking of cutting it off too. I always toy with the idea of cutting it short every spring.

On the OPK front, my OPK was darker yesterday than it was the two prior days, but still a tad lighter than the control line (I think). I'm getting excited because maybe it means I'm getting close to ovulating. We're definitely making sure to cover the BDing bases!

I'll be back on later today to catch up...

Christina... no, I usually don't have a veggie with breakfast unless I make an omelet or scrambled eggs with mushrooms and tomatoes. For breakfast I usually end up having hardboiled eggs and Jimmy Dean turkey sausage because it's quick.

Nik - yep, a December baby. I always thought I'd avoid TTC a December baby but now that we're so excited I would be so excited to have a December baby - more December events for my life! How does your cycle look? You're about 5 or 6DPO now, right?

Okay, so my OPK got pretty dark yesterday but not dark enough. Today there was no 2nd line at all. My temp is still low so either I O'd today or my body is just giving me false signals. Hmmm....I'm hoping my temp skyrockets tomorrow or else I'm in for another long cycle it seems.

Nothing else new with me. Weight is holding steady and I've been just eating whatever this week - going to try to make better choices this week and keep my calories in check. I may try SB next week if I don't lose this week - it sounds like a good plan.

Going to lurk - I hope you all have a great Sunday night. See you tomorrow!

Amber: So far, no O for me, either. I've been getting EWCM for about five days now, with cramping, but my temp has not spiked. If I don't get the spike, I'll be waiting till Thursday for ovulation, according to FF. I'm getting mixed signals, too. My temps were up for two days in a row, then fell again.

Hi, everyone hope all is well.
My biopsy on my breast came back fine, they'll have to remove the fibroid tumor surgically if they don't disappear after birth. They're still monitoring the ones in and around the baby, but have no conerns.
Tried to find out the gender of the baby, but Baby "B"'s legs were crossed and was in the "hear no evil, see no evil" position as to say, "no photo's please, but we did manage one 3d pic i'll post later..
Are temp spikes, guaranteed OV? The month I got pg, was my first time charting and my temp never seemed to spike unless I was doing something wrong, so I figured no OV. Again maybe it could have been human error on my part. The EWCM was the best indicator for me though.

Good Morning Ladies,

Thank you for the compliments on my hair, I appreciate it!

Christina- Currently I am using Suave hair lotion for curly hair ( I think) I change what I use every time cause I am never quite satisfied with how it looks.

Katy- Please feel free to post as many pics as you are able to, he is a beautiful blessing and we wanna see him!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Mine was good, had a good time at the birthday party riding go-karts and stuff. I was a little scared, while standing in line, that I wouldn't fit in the go kart, or wouldn't be able to buckle, or wouldn't be able to get out of the go kart (a lady before me had to be helped out) but.... I was just fine..... no problems!!!!

That was a HUGE milestone for me cause I am always scared of the public humiliation (had to get off a ride at a carnival once cause the bar wouldn't close.. that was THE MOST humiliating thing EVER!) So this was a very big deal to me

Here's my menu today
B: Ham
L: Ham and Broccoli
S: Peanut butter
D: not sure yet, maybe pork chops

Have a great day girls!

Dessa - how amazing that picture is!!! How far along are you? From what I understand, a thermal shift (i.e. three temp spikes higher than the previous six) means you O'd the day before the temp spike. I know CM is one of the best indicators of fertility, but mine is so inconsistent - some cycles I have EWCM and some I have none so it can be frustrating for me. I always know when I O'd (afterward) based on my temps though.

Mel - I'm the exact same way with my hair products. I'm never completely satisfied so I tend to switch it up from month to month. I also use 2-3 different products at a time - a curl mousse, defrizing serum, etc. I need it to weigh my curls down though to prevent frizzyness. Congrats on the go-karts!! You're doing awesome with your WL!!

Nik - oh, hmmm...sorry about not O'ing yet. Your body is definitely gearing up for it though with all that EWCM. Hopefully you and your DH are keeping up with the signs!

Okay, so I got no second line yesterday or today on my OPKs. My temp jumped way up this morning so maybe that means I O'd yesterday??? I need 2 more temps to confirm. I'm very hopeful at this moment and can't wait to see tomorrow's temp to help confirm that I O'd. My DH said we should BD one more time to make sure. Haha... If we did O on Sunday then we had really great timing - we BD'd Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday last week.

I'll keep your girls updated. Again, not much new food wise. I have been making better choices today - oatmeal instead of sugary cereal, fruit instead of a fiberone granola bar, etc.

I'll BBL.

AHH! This cycle is driving me nuts! My weight is up, the fertile fluid is gone, my temperatures are DOWN, and FF isn't predicting O until Thursday! You know, I'm just going to go with the flow on this one. We may plan a little BD later in the week to cover our bases, but I'm done trying to interpret this cycle. I wrecked my plan to lose big this month, having made about ZERO progress, and I'm not about to induce ketosis during the 2WW! I'll just wait until AF shows up, if she does, then I'll hit it hard again. Until then, I'm trying to eat my veggies and be a good little girl. No more cherry wine for me...

Nik, those are all great signs that you O'd. Temp spikes the day after O. Sunday I was feeling down since my temp was down and my CM was dry and the OPKs weren't registering. Monday my temp soared. I O'd Sunday. SO maybe you O'd yesterday? Definitely let me know about the temp. Plus, even if you O on Thursday, that's not too far away - your cycle is still relatively shorter, isn't it? Keep charting and let us know what happens.

Okay, my temp is even higher this morning. I'm feeing pretty sure I O'd based on all the signs on Sunday, so I'm now 2dpo. Just 9 more to go.

Touching base to let you all know I'm thinking about you in the midst of the hectic-ness

Nik - sorry you're having a frustrating cycle. I feel your pain on that one. Keep BDin to cover your bases and that's about all the control we can have, huh Maybe you and I will be set to make a re-commitment challenge next week, whatdya think?

Mel - I'd love to have your hair! You really are a beautiful woman. WTG on the go-carts You're doing so well! KUTGW!

Amber - sure does sound like you O'd and that you had some great timing this month. for you! I'll be on pins and needles for the next couple of weeks!

Katy - nutcase, huh? That must be why I like you so much And to answer your question, I'm the opposite of addicted to school. Once I got done with LS, I vowed to never enter another degree program again. Now I just sit back and watch DH sweating his masters. I'm much happier on this side of that coin, that I'll be a great cheerleader for you! BTW, Tucker is absolutely gorgeous and I his pics, ho away

Amm- I think you're right about the sugar thing. If I can keep a handle on that, I tend to be ok - regardless of what eating plan I'm on. Would you care to share any of your fave SB recipes/menus? I'm always looking to poach some new tasty recipes

Dessa - so glad your biopsy came out ok How are you feeling these days?

Christina - I'll be happy to pass the moving torch to you Oh wait, I think Mel is the next one on the list. We sure are a moving bunch of folk, huh. I think compared to the move you're getting ready to make, mine'll be a piece of cake

Our Move won't be until June 10th. And now who knows LOL The Army switched what post we would be going to and now my husbands Enlisted Record Brief says he's going to Benning (in Georgia) but his Assignment says Grafenvoher, Germany. The airline that hubby's ticket is reserved for (thru the Army) doesn't transport short-nosed breed dogs (we have a boxer) from June 1st - Sept 30th and we're supposed to be flying out June 10th. AHHHHHH LOL I'm already going crazy!

why do they not transport a certain kind of dog for only a period of time... that seem a bit odd! So is it Georgia or Germany?

Mel - I know it has to do with extreme temperatures. They will not ship when it's too hot because of something to do w/ their breathing ability? I honestly don't get it.

Germany again now. He just recieved the email. so for now we're going to Grafenvoehr but then again that is subject to change once we get approved for concurrent travel. LOL Why does the Army have to be so confusing.

On another note we went for our EFMP screening so that we can apply concurrent travel and Jonny had to do a scorecard thingy for 2-4 year olds and he did awesome! She said 'he's smart as a whip'. She was doing body parts w/ him and she only asked a few like hair, nose, mouth, hands, feet and when she didn't finish w/ the rest of the body parts he got kinda aggravated and just started naming off everything from forehead to chin to armpit LOL Guess he showed her

My baby is growing up

Christina - Germany sounds like a lot more fun than Georgia! Hopefully it works out for you the way you want it to. Will you just plan to go a bit earlier with the dog or what? I'm surprised that there aren't other options for the summer months to transport pets - like air conditioned luggage areas or something. Congrats too on your son! He sounds so smart and fiesty!

Mel - are you packed up yet? I don't envy you and the move. Although I absolutely love living in new places - I can't wait until we can get a new house.

Kat - yeah!! You're back! Are you completely moved yet? Can't wait to hear an update and see some pictures!

Nik - I'm sending you ovulation dust. I really hope that you saw a temp spike today.

Okay, so I read an old wives tale about pineapple helping with implantation so I bought some fresh cut up pieces this weekend figuring if I O I would have it for a day or two because I'm crazy and hey, it may work, right??? Well today I get home and it's completely 100% gone. My DH ate it all. I didn't tell him the OWT because I don't want him to realize how crazy I've gone so I'm confessing my weirdness to you all.

Alright, I'm behind on all the things I need to do for the night. Need to run and take a shower. I'll see you all tomorrow.
