Thanks for the tips, Nik! I'm c/p'ing them to my computer for future reference
My eating was pretty bad yesterday, but I did ok on Saturday, so I'm hoping that by Wed weigh-in I'll have mitigated the damage. We can officially say that we move next week and I'm starting to do the panic breaths I did get a good amount of packing & cleaning done this weekend and will try to keep it up this week. Anyone feel like coming over for another one of our infamous "getting healthy for baby pot lucks" ![]()

Hey girls. Sorry I've been MIA. I think I needed a board break for a few days. I've been feeling blue with eating LC lately too. So as of today, I'm just watching my calories - semi-WW style. I'm giving myself one week to see how I do weight-wise and I figure if I lose weight then it's a bonus. If not, then I'll probably be ready to jump back on LC. I just find this WOE so difficult when I have to cook for my husband who doesn't eat LC. Unfortunately he doesn't cook and when I leave him to fend for himself I always feel like we miss out on dinner time or he eats crap with me and I feel like it's hurting his health. So anyways....
That's my plan for this week. I won't post my menus since they aren't LC. I'm going to start exercising (I hope) this week and I'll let you know how that goes. No positive yet for the OPK so I'm still waiting... I hope you girls had a good Monday. The DLS time was difficult for me this morning. I'm soooooo tired!

OH YEAH! DLS stunk up my morning! I was only about ten minutes late to work, though, so the world didn't fall apart.
![]() I weighed in... 213! Not bad, I would say, for a tremendously fun Friday night. However, I was not able to re-induce. I'm not looking at the big O until around next Friday, so I still have time if I want to work on induction again... Maybe tomorrow? Going to bed early tonight... |

I'm glad I'm not the only one having a hard time with my eating right now. (funny how we tend to follow similar patterns that way). I don't really have a good reason, just my usual excuses/justifications - if I was as good at convincing other people as I am at convincing myself, I'd be the best lawyer in the state
Back on track today! ![]() Amber - I hear ya on needing a break sometimes. Glad to have you back, tho ![]() Nik - 213's not bad at all, GL with getting back on the wagon today, too bad we can't be in the same place to cheer each other on ![]() Have a great day, ladies! ![]() |

Yep, it does seem like we all go in cycles (not TOM cycles) with motivation, baby-craziness, etc.
Haven't O'd yet according to temps or OPKs. My temps are actually lower than normal but I guess that's becuase of this darned DLS. FF said not to adjust them for this and to keep going like it's normal for the remainder of the cycle. So I'm guessing that when I O it will be slightly lower than what I'm using to see for post-O temps. Would be nice to see if I ever O! I usually don't O this early though so I'm guessing it won't be until next week. Hope you are all off having a wonderful day! I'm going to go and clean up a bit around the house and make dinner. My DH was sweet and cleaned the kitchen today so now I feel like I need to pull my weight and tidy the living room or something. ![]() BBL! |

Hi ladies! Looks like I'm back on the Getting Healthy for Baby boards!
We are not currently ttc, obviously since Tucker is not even 3 weeks old, but we plan to once he is weaned from breastfeeding. If he does not wean himself before, I plan to do so at one year. I have about 40 lbs. I'd like to lose by then for my next pregnancy. |

Katy:
I never knew you from before, so I want to introduce myself. "HI! I'm Nikie!" Right now, I'm struggling to recover my whoosh fairy that left after some chocolate covered strawberries at a bachelorette party on Friday. We'll see how I do soon; so far, not so good. Everyone: The school board approved my transfer tonight. I'm official! ![]() |

Well Ladies. I hope you don;t mind but I'm going to stick aroundthis board even though I am no longer on Atkins per order of my doctor. I fainted in her office on Friday in the middle of getting blood taken and then they gave me some juice to get my blood sugar up and get me to come back fully. The juice was loaded with sugar and I spent the next hour there vomiting and trying to recover. My husband let them know I was on Atkins and they were saying how though it is a great diet some people get real sick on it and apparently I get to be one of those lucky people. So I'm going to watch my Carbs but not keep them under 20. I don't mind it taking a bit longer to drop the weight I just want to drop it. I hope ya'll don't mind me sticking around.

Hello Ladies,
Welcome back Katy -- You can join us anytime! I wanna keep seeing new picks of that little dumpling! Christina-- I think it's a good idea to up your carbs I get about 30-40 depending on the day, you don't need to stay at induction levels forever, I think that's one thing that can cause the boredom, when you add in more veggies and stuff you get more variety and it is more if a life time thing. 20 carbs for the rest of my life is not possible! Nik- Congrats! Here's my menu today B: 3 eggs scrambled w/ onions L: Pork roast w/ broccoli S: not sure D: not sure again.... Have a great day ladies!

Amber -
am I going to have to give you the same speech I give Belle about the horrors of cleaning? Excellent that DH pitches in, tho, sounds like you've got a keeper!Po's back ![]() Missed ya, girlie! Tucker's awfully adoable What kind of WOE are you following while you BF?Nik - Congrats on being official! The countdown to fall is on I'm in your same boat with trying to find that dang whoosh fairy Can't wait to be moved and settled so I can get back on trackChristina - Of course you can stick around, regardless of what plan you're on FWIW, the majority of Atkins is supposed to be over 20 carbs/day, so I bet a lot of us are gonna be eating basically the same way. Scary stuff with the doc, tho. Hope you're feeling better ![]() Mel - you're doing so well You're diligence in sticking with it is really inspiring to me ![]() It looks like I'm gonna be struggling to stay LC now that we're in the last push to moving. The goal is to use up as much of what's in the house as possible, and a lot of it just isn't LC. Scale's packed, so I'm using that as a motivator/reminder to not go hog wild - I don't wanna undo all my work in just 2 weeks, KWIM. The good news is that I've decluttered so much stuff that unpacking and getting settled into the new place shouldn't take long at all, so by the end of the month, I'm expecting to be rolling along again, with time to exercise, too Make it a great one, ladies ![]() |

UH! I have done so well, but these past few days have been dumb. I'm sorry that the English teacher can't find a better word, but I've been eating sugar for no reason. I've been going over on carbs just because they're there, and I've been so noncommittal to the way of life. I haven't been outright cheating, but I also haven't been motivated to do better. I thought I was going to do so well this month, but now I just feel like I've lost momentum. *puttering*
Weigh-in Wednesday, right? I'm at 213.8. The gain isn't huge, and I'm not terribly upset about it. I just sorta don't care right now. I'm confused about this change of heart. I don't want to abandon the WOE, but I also am not super worried about the extras in my diet. I have been away from home two weekends in a row, so I'm sure that has something to do with my level of preparation and enthusiasm for the workweek. Plus, it's still a week from spring break. In good news, I seem to be getting some EWCM, so I may be fertile! It'll be nice if I get a temperature jump in the next few days. At the very least, it will mean that my cycles are shortening, as I'm about eight days ahead of where I was last month. Wish me luck!

Nikie - Good Luck!!!!! Good Luck!!! Good Luck!!! Maybe take a mental break and maintain for a week and then restart it up. You lost so quickly that your body may just be wanting a rest week.
Amm - I agree with Kat, I want info on how you did so well. Any tips, tricks, secrets to your success?? How much do you exercise? Kat - Good job on decluttering and getting things ready for an easy move. Oh, and I didn't clean last night. I'm a bad wifey! ![]() My "dumb" (stole your word choice for the night Nik!) OPKs finally gave me a second line. It was faint but at least I saw something. According to the directions it's suppose to be as dark or darker than the control line. But I've read online that some people get gradually darker lines right before they O and I've read that some people just get a 2nd line and that seems to indicate when they O. I'm not sure what really I'm looking for based on that so I'm just going to see when my temps go up. Hopefully this means they are about to rise and I'm about to O in a few days. Fingers Crossed!! Oh, and to prove my craziness to you all, I got really excited when I saw the 2nd line that I ran to show my husband. He said he saw it and got excited and said, "oh, good, so you ovulated??!!" I said, "no, well, I don't know...I'm not sure..." It was funny. This whole process can be way too confusing. Alright, it's getting late so I'm going to go and watch some shows or something. I'll see you all tomorrow! |

To answer some questions, I have been pretty much following the South Beach Diet. I've made tweaks here and there to get it to work better for me... but overall, I watch my carbs and I try to eat a moderate amount of fat. I usually have one serving of fruit and one serving of whole grains per day. Some days I don't have either and some days I have one or the other.
As for exercise, I am in the gym 5 days a week. I work with a personal trainer once a week. He's a gift from God. I do 45 minutes to an hour of cardio 5 days a week. Lately I've done 2 hours of cardio on Mondays because I'm in a weight loss competition in my county and we weigh in on Tuesdays. So, on Mondays I go to the gym at 4:45am and then again after I leave school in the afternoon. I also strength train for 30-45 minutes 3 days a week before doing my cardio. It's a lot of exercise... but exercise is key!

Amber: Thanks for the advice. You're right; I may need to just take a rest. Maybe my body knows that I'm ready to get pregnant this month? Looks like we're O'ing together, so send me some baby dust! Try to get to bed early so you can do your deed.
Amm: That's lots of exercise. I'm on a 100 day commitment to exercise, and sometimes, just doing squats while I brush my teeth is more than I want to do. The key for me is making it a habit, so 79 days from now, I should be exercising regularly. Good luck on your competition. How are you doing? WOW! Tomorrow is my drama club call out. The yearbook will be done later next week, then I can focus on drama. Always drama... ![]() |

I used one for the cycle that I conceived Tucker, but I had also been on Clomid and had an HSG done that month too. I honestly think the HSG is what helped me get pregnant, not anything else. I got mine on ebay and will use it again when the time comes.

Amm - I haven't used the CBE monitor. I was going to buy it a few cycles ago but the website said it wasn't recommended for people with cycles over 40 days. My cycle typically ranges from 40-60 days so I didn't bother with it. I've read really great reviews though on it since it measures 2 different things and tells you when you have high fertility days and peak fertility days. I'm currently using just plain old OPKs that I found online cheap and so far I think they're working.
![]() Yesterday I had a faint line on the OPK and told I have another faint line. Not sure if it's slightly darker or not. It's still not as dark as the control line though so I'm guessing it's still a negative. Hopefully it means that I'm getting close though. My temp was up this morning but I didn't get 3 consecutive hours of sleep so I'm not sure on that front either - darned dog! Okay, going to get back to work... |

I have high hopes for fertility this month. I think I'm O'ing right now, which would be great. I've had cramps all day, and I remember that back around Christmas, I had these awful cramps that I thought would bring my period. Instead, I think it was ovulation. I also got a high temp this morning, so we shall see. I'll let you all know what fertility friend has to say in about three days.
It's a beautiful day! ![]() |

Amm - GL with your contest. You are kicking booty with all that exercise That's where my focus is going next. ) I've heard lots of good things about them and know several people that got PG while using them, altho, like Po, you never know exactly what to attribute it to when it happens.Nik - I agree that just taking it easy on the WOE for a week or so then re-committing might be what you need. Sometimes it helps me to kind of reset my brain that you O soon!Amber - the OPKs can be pretty frustrating. Seems like an excuse to get your BD on, though ![]() Mel - GL with your packing, hon. My back room looks like a dang storage unit with boxes all across the back wall and all the way up to the ceiling When is the move?Well, I've reached that point where I'm tired of eating the junk in the cabinets and am ready to be back on real LC. One week to go ) Stuff is mostly packed, and when I took Mom and Daddy by the new place yesterday, we had appliances ![]() |
