The little white cat with the black tail and black on her face looks just like my cat...
I had one of those hammocks for my old cat, he loved it.

Well, I had my first gain of the competition... it's been 8 weeks and I've always had a loss. But today I had a 0.2lb gain. I know it's nothing... and I know it's from TOM. If only I had worn a lighter-weight skirt!

And, just so you know, I can't get Cadbury Creme Eggs off my mind! I really, really want to eat one.

I have only one now, my old one I had for 17 yrs. passed away last year. I at one time had three of them but one was a outside tom and one day he just didn't come home and I have never seen him since, but that was a long time ago.
My cat now never goes outside, I keep her inside at all times because I am afraid she will get lost. I have id tags on her but still don't want her outside.
I will check out the site for shelter cats. Our daughter went to the shelter and got her a cat and he is so beautiful. He is about two yrs. old and is so lazy and fat but so loving to. He is jsut a grey tabby but we think he is beautiful.

See ya all later. Be good.
hi Mary! yup i have cats! currently i have 8 all spayed and neutered and i was playing around on Stumble and found that site and thought it was awesome! i have seen about making comfys for them but i really think i could do the pillowcase hammocks and that would be something i would do instead of just dreaming! most of my ideas seem to be just that dreaming. i need a few good swift kicks you-know -where! head bonks and chin scritches to your kitty!

11am...just back from going OUT!!! Yay, ME!!!

Yep, I got up, dressed, out the door with two staggering bags of trash - one of them catalogs I'm ditching, magazines I'll never read again, heavy paper trash! To save toting a full catalog to the trash again, I ripped only last page from the catalogs that came in mail - left rest of catalog in trash at p'office, to recycle. Brought home only the addressed page with customer number, then went to Catalog Choice - Eliminate unwanted catalogs you receive in the mail to cancel delivery. Sure hope this site works! Some of these places send a catalog a week, which is a lot for a tiny pobox that I visit once or twice a month. I'm also so weak that I buy from catalogs that I leaf through to see if there is anything that I "need" - sigh! So blocking catalog delivery will get the postmaster off my back (for not hitting that tiny pobox as often as he thinks it ought to be emptied) and will save me from spending dollars that I am saving up to buy myself a HOT PINK wardrobe when I hit 199# - only an interim goal, but a goal that deserves a splash of color after decades of wearing dark colors to look less bulky (as if navy blue really fools anyone, right?). I see myself dressing in a lot of pinks, a lot of silks. Fun clothes.

Anyway, I'm all worn out from the tension of walking in public as well as struggling in and out of my car and some difficulty getting my foot on the brake too. Legs are just hard to move. I wonder what's going on there.

I'm going to refill my bedside water bottles and snuggle in for a nap or two, now that I've filed mail and updated budget and recorded financial stuff.

Hope your Tuesday is productive and as LC as possible. Have a g'day!

Got an idea that you can make a list of all the things that you want more than a few seconds of sugar on your tongue. Write out a list of things that make your heart sing and lift your spirit as you plan a thin life and a longer life than a fatty can hope to have. By the time you finish, I bet the idea of sabotaging your excellent LC plan will seem a lot less enticing.

We are all so proud of how you have worked to reach this weight.

You are a real inspiration, with your faithful adherence and fierce workouts!

Amm-- do you suffer from cephalic response? Can you sniff something and be satisfied?

Are you a person who tends to fall off of the wagon if you eat something off-plan? If you know you can handle it, you could possibly have the cream egg. Put in an extra 30 minutes of exercise for it, and follow that egg with a high-fat food item. Then put the egg out of your mind. Eat it in front of someone so you are not sneaking food.

It lessens the effect of the sugar and reminds you that it's a part of an overall meal, and not a treat to fall off of the wagon for.

Of course, I say this as someone who has no idea of your background and your tendencies.

I am sure that Cadbury Cream Egg will taste like crap. You probably will be shocked at how bad it is! It's all corn syrupy crap.

This is a way of life and not a perfection game. If you are so strict that you can't handle this weight loss plan long-term and know you can handle a RARE treat, why not?

This is my opinion ONLY! I went to Red Robin Sunday and had a high carb meal. I did an extra 30 on the treadmill and was back on track. No worries. And I had an 8.75 pound loss the next day at TOPS. LOL Now, obviously, it's not something I do often. It was an emergency and I just wanted some fries. (I'm a starch girl)

I am a large girl because, for me, it was always always or nothing. Now I realize it doesn't have to be either. I eat perfectly and happily well 99% of the time. The other 1% I have, enjoy and move on. No regrets. Of course, everyone is so different!

Hello everyone!! Just checking in!

It went REALLY well last night meeting the girls. They are a very fun, loud, outgoing group... a lot like how my friends and I were at their age! I'll be back again next Monday night and they all seem really excited about that! Yay!

I've worked with kids since I was one... helping my mom in the church nursery, teaching Children's Church and Sunday School, babysitting, as a youth group leader, working with street kids in Central America, working at a homeless shelter with 18-21 year old women, as a guest teacher for a year, and now as a full-time nanny! I truly love kids of all ages! They keep me on my toes!

Today's Menu:
B- CO bark, pepperoni slices (2)
L- 2 beef franks, hb eggs (3)
S- coffee w/cream and splenda (3)
D- cobb salad (6)
TOTAL = 14 carbs / 3 liters of water
(heading to gym to walk a few miles!)

Oh! And this morning I was back in moderate ketosis! Woo-hoo! Now to start shedding the pounds again!!!

Hi-
Awww thanks Cleo-I'm sure you'd be awesome to work with/for everyday! I am so proud of you-teetering on the edge of twoterville too-bet you're there before the week is out too!

Zer-way to go with all you accomplished today! *yay!*

Mary-hang in there!

Amm-I hear ya on the clothes and weight! Next week will be better. Cadbury eggs don't call to me but reeses peanut butter eggs sure do! Do you think if you tried a Cadbury egg the sugar would be so overwhelming it would stop the desire to eat it?

Mary and Deb-My cats love their carpet tree-I have never tried a hammock with them but I bet they would love it.
Anyone have any ideas about how to keep your cat from destroying miniblinds while still having privacy-I have blinds on all my windows in the new apartment and the cats want to look out the windows-especially the one in my bedroom that faces the front of the complex right by the mailboxes-where everyone can and does look in my window (and you never know what state of dress or undress I might be in!) That window ledge is wide and low so naturally the cats LOVE THAT particular window especially! I thought about getting shear or plain white curtains to put up but am afraid the cats will claw those so I need some help/suggestions.

Cleo, I am able to have a "cheat" and get right back on plan. During the last year that I've been doing this, I was derailed for nearly a week in the summer after my sister's wedding, but I got control of things after an 8 pound gain. Then all was fine. So, other than that incident, the occasional "cheat" doesn't hurt me. My trainer actually encourages me to have a "cheat" every 2 months or so. The last one I had was at Thanksgiving, though.

So, I mentioned the candy thing to him today and he told me to buy one and eat it. He said to eat it, follow it up with a bottle of water, then make sure I didn't eat any other sugar. Then tomorrow he will work me extra hard at training. But he did say to eat it. So, when I was at the store, I went to get one, then saw the Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs and realized that I love those things so much more. So, I bought one. It has 180 calories, 10 grams of fat, and 18 carbs. It isn't the worst thing I could eat. I plan on eating it after dinner and letting that be that.

I have submitted to some little lindor dark chocolate eggs . They had a great deal in bulk so we got some. I keep picking at them. I thought I could handle one a day but I have to remember I am addicted to carbs/sugar and I cannot do moderation. I have to get DH to hide them before I eat them all then break into the kids easter stash because I'm a raging carboholic. I hate addictions

Cool! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I agree-- the peanut butter ones taste better!

Hi, Des! I was wondering where you are!

I am hungry but I'm waiting until later to eat. I have to run an errand.

bwylde-- it's tough when sugar is the addiction. For me it's starches, so I'd be the same way with potato chips. Be strong, cute thang! Just hit the exercise a little harder today.

Miss you. Hope you are well. Busy? You know we will welcome you with open arms. Me? Still fat. Sigh. But I'm getting better about making it onto my scales in the 8second window before it cuts off. Must be hilarious to see me waiting for it, then scrambling to get one foot on, then easing weight to that leg so I can heft the other foot. It's the fastest I move all day long. What a thrill to see the numbers stop shifting as I steady myself to get the final word on how gravity is gripping me. Sigh.

How about a frosted or a reflecting film that adheres to the glass? I presume the window is shut, if it's a ground-floor window. Shutters might work, but are an expensive way to block cats. Can you lattice anything outside the windows, to block view from some vines growing out of a big pot (if there's no dirt for you to plant in)? Hanging baskets? Difficult to decorate around cats. Cats and curtains don't mix.

What about a screen, freestanding panels, so that anyone looking in sees that - not the whole room? A bookshelf? Your room will still get light from the window, but peeping Whoevers will see the screen set a foot from the window or bookshelves or...something that is a barrier to peepers.

When I ordered 3# of cranberries I had no idea what a vast amount of berries would arrive in a HUGE box. So I'm eating dried crans as my principal fruit for quite a while. Lots of Vit.C and quite a bit of fiber. When will I learn? Sigh.

I have a theory that if I supply sufficient nutrients, my craving for illicit carbs will cease to exist. The raw cacao in my morning hot slosh gives me a jolt of bitter chocolate, as there is always some grainy residue that remains when I've finished a hot slosh. I spoon out the tiny bits of bitter chocolate as a treat, in hopes that I shall develop a passion for bitter chocolate and forget my lust for milk chocolate (Cadbury's Dairy Milk Chocolate, by preference - alas).

Had some fish today, some pork, some beefy meatballs loaded with hot pepper and a couple of handfuls of raw vegies. Not bad for me. Tried to eat less, to put my fork down as I chewed, not to shovel food like a fireman on a train who is feeding a furnace. So many LC behaviors to think of. Wears me out!

Hi-
Des, been missing ya and you're NOT fat! Are you happy? Are things going well? Getting mroe sleep? What's happening in the dating life, the work life, the studying life?

Amm-hope you enjoyed the treat!

Carla-Hide the chocolate!!!! and good luck!!

Zer-way to go with weighing faster and KUTGW of watching what you eat and moving!! The apaprtment complex won't let me put frosted stuff on the windows or put plants outside so that's why I was thinking curtains. Thanks for the ideas!

Tanicka-good idea-just I won't be there to squirt them all the time! I'll give it a try, though!

Cat-friendly curtains

Laura, my sister has cats who are persistent front-window ornaments - and she has put up white lace curtains that end a few inches above the cat-sill (let's call a spade a spade, okay?) so that the creatures glide in under the lacework that is an irregular ornamental bottom design as one sees on a valance (the better to distract a persistent peeper). Cats do not seem to mind or molest this, as they fit in under the fabric and can then sit up - between window and fabric. I believe she still has full drapes that she CAN draw to block peepers at night, as that window lets folks see all the way to the back of the house, a SoCal 'open-space' floorplan. Cats truly challenge us, in so many ways, the little darlings!

You might still like to put a headboard or a screening divider at the window, rather than gaze out at passing folks, as it is your bedroom, a private space.

I have a window that I keep open day and night, and am often aware that my whole room is on display at night when lights are on. I've even had a man call to me, asking me to take delivery at the front door when he had not had an answer to his doorbell ringing. So I know how it feels to be in bed and be made aware that my window provides a peepshow. That man was a postal delivery person, so I thanked him for coming by to fulfill delivery of a big basket of mail that a new delivery guy had taken back as undeliverable. We are a confusing piece of property here. So that was not a peeper, per se.

Wed morn in SoCal...birds chirping...freeway buzzing...

I've bagged up my 3# of dried crans into numerous gallon ziploc bags - six or so - and hope that will keep them crunchy as I nibble away at them for a very long time. Good source of Vit.C and fiber, I'm sure. Sour, but I love sour stuff.

Did not weigh today, as I drank my 16oz of hot slosh and am convinced that it just HAS to weigh a pound inside me - a pound that I do not want to record as my midweek weight. So I'll probably hang on 'til Saturday to weigh this week. When I'm losing weight in ounces a week, something like this can skew scales!

Feel pretty perky, as always, with 40g of protein in me. Might be able to make a dent in the clutter, break down some boxes to trot to the dumpster. Got a delivery coming from Netrition on Friday, so I need to keep breaking boxes up for easy movement O-U-T of my room and to the dumpster. So much STUFF, so little space, in this 10x10ft room that is my haven from a carby world!

Happy hump day, y'all. Here's to a successful LC day for all of us!
