MARCH BFFM Thread
A new month, new goals, spring and then bathing suit season is almost here!
I start out March bloated from the progesterone I'm taking to try and get a period. Ugh. This adrenal fatigue business is not fun, but I'm sticking with what the good doc says, and hopefully after the wedding will be able to focus on stress relief more than I am able now. Anybody got any fun new goals they want to post! Here's mine: I will wear my size 8 black Limited Pants to the White House on March 17th. (and yes, I really am going to the WH for St. Paddy's day.) Happy fat burning!!

Oh what a fun goal Jammer! The WH huh...? Veddy interesting...
Well I wish I had some "fun" goals to post here instead of constantly complaining and whining about the snow. We had several more inches on Thursday so DH and I spent yesterday afternoon plowing, blowing and shoveling AGAIN! ...sigh...Oh Well...whatcha gonna do... ...? I think I'm just tired of it all. Hmmmmmmmmmmm....Wait a minute...ONLY 20 days until Spring arrives....woooooooooohooooooooooo!!! I am soooooooooo looking forward to that. Waving "hi" to everyone here and all that follow... |

Hi everyone!
Just a quick post before I head out the door. I got my measurements and body fat checked Thursday evening by my personal trainer. He texted me yesterday to let me know that I lost 4 lbs of body fat in 5 weeks. I don't have all the other #s yet but I should have on Monday when I see him. He did mention to me on Thursday that he'd probably be changing my diet for the next 4 weeks to see what it could do. I am taking the weekend off plan. |

Hey, JOdi, awwwww, shucks, thanks! You're sweet. How's the no-grains going? Or aren't you trying that?
Rachel, that RAWKS! Great job! How's the off plan weekend going? I"m deciding now what to eat off-plan today. . . no doughnuts. . . too many issues with portion control. Donna, stay warm! At least it's a good workout for your back, shoveling all that snow. I did back, chest, abs this morning in the weight room. Staying strong though I am in the middle of a progesterone dose so I can get a period. So am feeling bloated. . ugh. All the best to all of you! |

Nothing too horrible to eat on my off plan weekend. I have had a scoop of no sugar added ice cream last night and this afternoon. I did eat a couple spoonfuls of peanut butter for breakfast this morning. I think I may have a no sugar added mocha frappe this evening after supper. Then starting tomorrow I am back on my trainer's eating plan.

Oh, I'm so glad Jodi. Regarding binging, I've been meticulously entering in ALL food into fitday since Jan. 1. When you force yourself to do this, you sickly realize just how many calories you really were eating. I mean, I used to sit in front of the the TV with a bag of macademia nuts, and once or twice, with a jar of peanut butter.
Anyway, I know you struggle with this, too, so I hope that's been good for you lately. Rachel, nice work. . . sounds like you have great control over your off-plan moments. Susun, Don't work too hard! Busy here, too, know what you mean. Hello to everyone else! Happy Monday, UGH. |

Thanks for getting us going Jammer! Wooo hoo on fitting into your dress and making a great goal!
![]() Jodi - I do better with low/no grains too ... today's will be quinoa w/tuna for lunch ... Our bodies sure are happy when we give them what they want. Susan - Having a very long week here too! But I'm making sure my exercise gets in and doing better on foods... I took Sat/Sun off - didn't track foods at all ... was fun! Yesterday I tracked and ate over 2000+ Calories! Mostly good stuff, but some GS cookies got in there (only 1 serving) and an extra half tbl of PB too ... Rachel - Sounds like you're doing fantastic! Isn't the no-sugar added stuff good... so nice that they finally got the flavors going on these "better for you" IC treats ... Donna - hee hee - Don't forget - just cuze April/May are fairly warm, you might want to hold off on planting till closer to Memorial Day! Gotta leave room for that last freeze and torrential spring rain Did you get any of the Thunderstorm on Sunday? We had huge lightening and thunder show w/dumping dumping rain... then woke up to soft huge flakes of snow ![]() Workouts are going well, going to change things up a bit as I think I'm bored? or something ... We decided NOT to go to FL this year... going to get the house in order, do some painting, cleaning, goodwill gathering... Kind of a happy/sad thing... I'll be less stressed if the house is finally in order, but was looking forward to laying on the beach... We're still thinking of going to a WaterPark resort for a couple of days over springbreak... it'll just be closer to home, and DH can still see me in a bikini ![]() I'm down almost 8 lbs (mostly fat) from my bulking before Christmas... someone had mentioned that now I'm leaner and curvier at the same time from last year at this time... My shoulders are a bit more broader, hips slimmer ... My goal is to stay on this cutting path to get rid of more fat, but keep my weight around 120 or so... Ok - off to get some work done! Happy Fat Burning to all that follow! ![]() |

Marci, This long two weeks full time is unusual for me so I am totally unprepared for my exercise. Wish I could be like yourself. You sound in control there.
I am doing very minimal activity, my job is mostly sitting. I do take the stairs and have tried running up them to get some cardio...in dress pants etc.. LOL! Eating going to plan, so one part is going well. Will be back at Exercise at the weekend, then back to part time work so I can fit it in easier. Hi Jammer, Jodi, Rachel, Donna, and all who visit. Goblet Squats Good Mornings Chins & Negative Chins Push Press 1 Arm Dumbbell Rows DB Press Hopefully I can get it all in ... less gabbing, more lifting Abs I'll sneak in while watching TV tonight.Happy Fat Burning Everyone!!! ![]() |

Thanks Susan. . . you shoveled out yet or is the snow still on it's way? It's raining here. Blech. . . busy day today. About to head to gym in a few. Just had shannycakes for breakfast. Egg beaters, oats, cinnamon, splenda, applesauce, and 2 TBSP of wheat germ for some folic acid. I'm consistently low on folate.
Up to 151.5 this morning. . . . WAaaaaaHHHH!! The scale is up and down, up and down. I hate it. Might be time for an up day. I've been at 1650 cals or so for the past 5 days. Am I undereating do you think? Or could this scale thing be the progesterone I'm taking? I know, I know, look at other ways that you are progressing, measure, etc. don't look at the scale. But it's just ingrained in the mind, darn it. ![]() Where is everyone???? Like I"m one to talk. ![]() |

Hi Jammer,
Snow still coming down had quite the dumping the biggest of the winter yet. It is as high as my back fence in places. Up to the deck rails too. Can't wait for Spring and the big thaw. Is that the ingredients for Shannycakes Jammer? Sounds good. Why not take a folate supplement daily. Muscle does weigh heavier than Fat, so you must be getting leaner! WTGG! Does anyone here use a rebounder? I was just wondering if I could use one in my w/o for a change. Mothers day is just around the corner so I may request one. Any thoughts on this? Waving to All... Susan |

Hi All!
I see that everyone is working hard as we move well into March. Praying that we don't get anymore snow... .Trying to be positive, the upside of shoveling has been that I've been getting an excellent cardio workout...the downside of all this shoveling has been that I've developed an extreme flare-up of my carpal tunnel that is now affecting both of my wrists. This just SO totally sucks... !!!!So feeling good about all the cardio I've been getting, I go to pick up the hand weights and OH MAN...I'm having a really difficult time holding onto them. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, is there anything I can do to make lifting easier? And I'm not even talking about HEAVY weights here either...just the 5-25 lb. hand weights. Anyone? As always, food has been good but I've opted for even smaller, MORE frequent meals during the day to keep my appetite in check. It's working well. Susan: I feel your pain! I too am eagerly awaiting Spring and planting season... ![]() Jammer: Your weight WILL fluctuate from time to time. Although I know absolutely nothing about your health stuff, I think Ileen has a point. Just wait a bit to see what's happening. Then, IF you feel you need to dump the bloat, cut down on the starchy carbs which are notorious for contributing to water weight gain. Just be sure that you consume enough to fuel your workouts. Becky: How is your program going? We haven't heard much from you lately! Marci: OK, I have to ask: how are you 'sneaking' in abs while watching TV? Is that like doing crunches or what? C'mon...spill it! Rachel: You seem to be having really good success with your trainer. You are fortunate to have one that actually "gets" it! Jodio: I am so glad to hear that your tummy troubles have subsided since you ceased complex grain products. I'm sure you'd love to dive into a HUGE bowlful of the stuff, but feeling good definitely outweighs the tasting good! OH...and BTW, the roof FINALLY stopped leaking when DH went up there and chiseled the ice dam out. Once he did that, the "river" ran down to the gutters and it immediately stopped leaking inside. Phew! ![]() Projects around here are on hold while my wrists take a much deserved break, but I'm still planning on putting on a few miles on the treadmill while looking out the patio doors... .Have a great day all. Waving to everyone here and all that follow...

Hey Donna . . good to hear from you, and let that carpal tunnel heal. I have a wrist brace I wear to bed sometimes. And YES, my hands/wrists have problems when I do deadlifts holding all that weight of 70-80 pounds. and my left hand/wrist sometimes aches when I hold 25+ weights.
Ileen, On the progesterone (progestin). . it's just a 10 day supply so that I can hopefully get my period. Last night was the last one! I'm back down to 150 this a.m. Briefly saw the scale flash 149, but it settled THREE TIMES on 150! ha ha, gotta go with that then. CAn't say I didn't try. I think it might be just the usual ups and downs, but it's keeping me on my toes. I will wait it out. . rest day today, with no starchy carbs at all. Biggest carbs are in the Dannon Lite N Fit.Ileen, what do you take your progesterone for? Last edited by Jammer : 03-10-2008 at 09:09 AM. |
