Today was a great day. I got 100% on a test, I found a quarter at school, all the lights were green on the way home....plus I lost 6 pounds for my weigh-in. Woot! I'm pretty jazzed. That makes 15.5 lost for my official 2-weeks of induction.
Good going, to drop so much weight like that. Wow! You sure stuck to the bare bones, to get such good results!

I stir up my hot slosh, fast, with a spoon. Sometimes use a hand-held mixer that makes no noise while it breaks up lumps. Mostly everything stirs up nicely if I stir like crazy while adding hot water to the dry ingredients in a 16oz container. Could not stand noise like a blender, not to mention the clean-up afterward. The goal is to get protein into me fast, first thing.

Zer~ Thanks for the thougts about processed foods and salts. I am sticking to a few other alterations to my menu for the next two weeks, but if I'm still stalled... these will be the next to go! Wish me luck!

Well, thanks for letting me butt in with my 2¢ worth of advice, considering how much canned fish I eat. We all do what we CAN do, as far as making a menu. Your menu makes me so thirsty!

About cheese, I did daily cheese when first I started Atkins. Now I probably do cheese fewer than once a week, most weeks. For me, it is a condiment, not a staple.

Ultimate "Atta girl" Award

WOW - so many people are doing great!! Way to go, Kim, and Laura! I can't wait to be looking at the kinds of numbers you ladies are seeing now. Zer, thanks for the inspiration to keep things on the right track.

As for my reward for sticking to it for the first few weeks, I ordered a book by C.S. Friedman - she has started a new trilogy "The Magister Trilogy", with the book "Feast of Souls". She has another trilogy that I really like, and a few other books that are single book stories. The thing I like about this author is that these books don't feel like repeats in the style and story of her writing. I check the internet every now and then to see if she has something new, and this one just came out in paperback. I have to figure out what my reward will be once I get to the size I want to be. Maybe a cruise?? Went on one for my honeymoon, and loved it. Maybe for each pound I drop, I'll put away some money so we can afford to go......

Do others here have a reward in mind for getting to their target weight? Other than being fabulous, of course!

I read somewhere on here that someone was going to get a half carot diamond when she lost 50 lbs and a one carot diamond when she lost 100 lbs! I have about 200 lbs to go, so I like the idea of getting a special piece of jewelry when I get down each 50 lbs, and maybe spring for that special diamond at my 200 lbs loss! A girl can dream...

In the meantime, I plan to think of the new clothes I'll have to buy as I shrink as my reward!

Cool, thanks! I will check out that author. (hehe I just bought 50 used paperbacks but what's a few more?)

My reward for reaching goal: I want to go on at least a 1 week vacation to Walt Disney World. I have never been.

I weighed today, up 2 lbs, but TOM, so who knows. I've had losses several weeks in a row so it's not unexpected, but I've been doing so good with routine exercise. Oh well, I'll just hope for a whoosh next week!

Laura, glad to see you and the kitties are getting settled in. WTG on sticking with your plan through all the turmoil.

Des, mexican food is so hard to resist, I know. But it's not so bad if you just get back on the wagon right away. I'm sure you'll drop that 3 pounds water weight quickly. I'm doing mexican on Wednesday night...a bunch of us from school are going out for dinner. I'm planning on getting fajitas. Not sure what else is legal. The chips they put on the table are the hardest for me to resist.

hippiegirl, Congrats on getting into the 270's! Woot! Good on you for not giving into the munchies.

amm, Happy Anniversary! Hope your weigh-in went well at work. I can't imagine waking up at 4:30 am to exercise. hee hee. Cheesecakes are a favorite of mine as well. But you need to make them the night before. I haven't tried any other LC desserts.

Hey Valerie, Heather and Gettin'! Gettin' I know what you mean about not having time to post to everyone. I have spurts where I do a couple posts a day then I might go a week then I get far far behind. Don't feel bad.

Zer, do you make your hot slosh in a blender? Years ago I used to do a breakfast shake but my blender is so loud I felt like I was disturbing the entire apt. complex. Now I just bring an ounce of nuts, some cheese, and stuff that I can nibble on in class as my breakfast. Today I had some leftover bacon that I ate in the car on the way to school. I've discovered I like cold bacon. LOL.

Today was a great day. I got 100% on a test, I found a quarter at school, all the lights were green on the way home....plus I lost 6 pounds for my weigh-in. Woot! I'm pretty jazzed. That makes 15.5 lost for my official 2-weeks of induction.

Bye for now.
Great job!! What a great day you've had! I love days like that!!!

Right now I see the new clothes that I desperately need as little rewards. I have bags and bags of clothes that I can't wear anymore... it's exciting to buy something in a smaller size.

I've also been thinking of getting a small tattoo when I lose 200 pounds. My husband has tattoos and would love for me to get one. I'm a huge chicken, but I'm considering it. A little butterfly, to commemorate my own transformation. We'll see.

realityjunkee, Good job on the exercise. Don't worry about the 2 pounds I'm sure you're right about TOM.

eaglesmate, hope you feel better.

MissMinda, WTG on not cheating for a week!

I just had a yummy dinner. I cut a chicken breast into strips and breaded it with a mixture of 2:1:1 parm cheese, almond flour, and oat flour. I counted up the carbs and there was about 5 in the breading, net. Put lots of spices in the "breading" and also on the chicken. Salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and something I picked up that's called Pappy's Seasoning or some goofy name. I think it must have one or more of the Colonel's 11 secret herbs and spices in it because sometimes I would get a hint of KFC original flavor in my mouth. It was delicious. I had celery sticks and ranch dressing to dip.

I want to make a dessert, but it has to be LC friendly and also taste good enough for my non-LC husband to enjoy! I'm going to look at Linda Sue's site and the recipe room here... but what are your suggestions?

It was hard waking up at 4:30 this morning! But I got in nearly an hour on the elliptical machine. It's amazing how some exercise in the morning makes me feel so much more energized than when I wait and do it in the afternoon. I don't even feel like I woke up at 4:30. I don't see this becoming a daily thing, though, because I like to sleep... and sleeping is good for weight loss, too!
you, my dear, are a rockstar!!!

Today's Menu:
B- Atkins shake, pepperoni slices (2)
L- 2 beef franks, 2 dill pickles (2)
S- 2 cheese sticks (2)
D- chicken, mixed veggies (5)
S- CO bark (2)
TOTAL = 13 carbs / 2 liters of water

My new mini goal is to cut out low carb tortillas and to cut way back on cheese and Atkins shakes. I'm thinking no more than 4 ounces of cheese per day (which is what Atkins reccomends) and only three Atkins shakes per week. I haven't weighed in in a little while, but I have been stalled for so long that I'm sure I still am. Although, I must say that I think I see some new differences in my shape (flatter tummy, slightly smaller boobs, etc.), so I'm really hoping that I'm gaining muscle from walking and losing fat!

I'm planning to make a bunch of Oopsie Rolls tonight to use instead of lc tortillas for sandwiches and snacks!
oh wow, i dont think i could handle such a small amount of cheese! me and cheese are lovahs!

but yeah, im with you...i need to ease off the tortillas. theyre so good, though! i cut them into triangles and make chips for my spinach artichoke dip!

How did you cook your chicken strips? Fry or oven?

You kids write SO FAST!!!!! I was unable to write yesterday, but here I am! Heather, you might have read a post by me - when I lose 100 I am getting a 1/2 carat diamond pendant (1/2 way there...) and when I lose the whole thing I'll get a 1 carat pendant. I will most likely use a diamond of my mom's for the 1/2 carat (we have no money for jewelry right now...) but will have to really buy the whole 1 carat thing - but I don't see that happening any time soon!!!

I have not been bad in the last few days, but I am worried about my salt intake. I believe I will weigh in tomorrow and see what's happening. I am trying to drink a lot of water. Also - yesterday I wore a 22/24 shirt to work - no jacket - it was loose enough to not have to cover it up! Maybe I am a size 24 now...or maybe the shirt is just big... In any case, I see it as a victory!

Congrats to all of you - being so good with eating and exercise. DH took the chlorine jugs to work with him - to get some after work - to try to get our pool up and running. With most days over 80 around here we can open the pool SOON!

What are you all eating today? So far, I've just had coffee. I have curried chicken breast for lunch and some mozzerella cheese. I also have hardboiled eggs for snacks. What do y'all have?

Looks as if PTO's first priority ought to be building membership. Quorum rule then requires lots of warm bodies or NO biz can be transacted, the few who show just go back home. Is that anything you can use to build membership?
