good morning err umm afternoon now I guess I had a great morning with dh. The kids were all still asleep and we snuck off to the breakfast bar at shoneys for some talk time and good breakfast. I know I had too much salt but it was soo good. scrambled eggs, mushrooms, shredded cheese with a little hot sauce on top. Bacon mmm lots of bacon, sausage and I did have one tiny pork chop with a bit of breading, very light breading. I still consider this a victory since I was salivating over the biscuits and gravy...and french toast sticks that my hubby was eating but had not one bite!

Our talk this morning was a planning session of sorts. My father in law is ill. He has pancreatic cancer that has recently returned after alot of treatment last year. He has decided not to pursue further treatment but to enjoy the time he has left while He is still feeling somewhat ok. Here lies the dillemma...they are 3000 miles from us. We really want to get all of us up there to see him but this is an expense greater than we can do right now. We are hoping to make the trip in june with all the kids. The tax rebate this year will be a blessing but I will still need to do some serious over time and saving before then. Well this has turned into one of my rambles as normal. I am off now to try a last ditch effort to recover a HUGE file of pics from a portable drive that failed, wish me luck. I hope you all have a wonderful day!!***edited to add...Im one of the cool group of pisces..I am a st pattys day baby march 17***

G'mornin Ladies!

Welcome MissMinda!

I'm still holding steady at 365, however we'll see what the scale says tomorrow (I weigh in on mondays). I'm not too hopeful as I had a an unabashed lunch with my 2 sisters yesterday.

We get together every week for an Afternoon with Jane where we have lunch and tea while watching a Jane Austen adapted movie (we watched Becoming Jane - LOVED it!).

We usually make good, healthier carb choices, but yesterday my middle sis had a "TOM crave" and we went a little overboard with a homemade apple crisp. At least the ice cream was sugar free

Hot Tamale, wow I'm not sure I would've been able to resist temptation like that. You did great! Good job.

Just woke up at 10am. I love the weekends. hehe.

Today is laundry day and homework day. Yesterday I made some chili and cornbread for DH. I was having small sips throughout the afternoon to check the spices. I didn't eat any of the beans. I probably injested a few carbs but that's OK. I couldn't quite get the flavor right so I started pouring over some of the saved recipes I've collected over the years. I decided to add cocoa powder and apple cider vinegar to cut some of the sweetness I felt it had. It turned the chili nice and dark colored and I think it tastes great. Doesn't taste like chocolate at all. Of course, I didn't tell my husband or he would've never eaten it. LOL.

{{{{{Angie}}}} I am so sorry to hear about your dad!

HippieGirl-- I love seeing your pretty face on the threads. You're so uplifting and cheerful!

FiberGal-- I LOVE Jane Austen. I will have to check out "Becoming Jane"

Mona-- A good friend of mine gave me a recipe where she put cocoa powder in a beef stew dish. I was shocked. But it was GOOD. Apparently chocolate makes a pretty decent accompaniment ingredients-wise to beef!

I didn't mean to just drop that in - kids were all over me - one is here now wanting to type his name...

Thanks for the support. Want to know what I did today? I made a 1 minute chocolate flax muffin, then sliced it in 3. Next, I whipped some cream and then made some sf pistachio pudding...and sliced a few strawberries. I layered the muffin with pudding and whipped cream and topped it off with a few berries. YUM! I still have 1/3 left for later - and more pudding for another time after that. Still drinking the water like crazy - I do think it makes a difference.

Need-- I should be more specific. You just have such a positive attitude, and you're growing so much in your low carb journey. And if anything gets in your way you're like, "Yeah well whatever" to that noise and keep on going! It is really inspiring. You go with the flow. If I had been more like you the last time I tried Atkins, I would have succeeded.

I got so excited about my shift in attitude (got lots more at my BLOG, if you have the patience to read there) toward weighing myself and to knowing what I weigh that I did allow a midweek weighing. It was funny how excited I was to see what number came up in the wee hours of that Wednesday morning. Weird!

It's just a number. It's not my value as a human being. Just a number, really.

Good job on the exercise. I did some weights on upper-body a couple of days ago. I didn't feel like I was doing much, but I'm definitely aware of some muscles being woken up now!

Just goes to show me - it is up to me. THis morning I had about 3 scrambled eggs with a few thin slices of spam (I know, salt city). I'm already drinking water to offset it. I'm hoping for 301 tomorrow! Y'all have a great day!

I just rewarded myself for sticking to my plan for 3 weeks with no cheats - with a book. My favorite sci-fi author just had her latest come out in paperback, but I've been saving it as a reward. Told myself I couldn't get it unless I had no cheats. Can't wait til it gets here on Friday.
